【Pls look at the top comment first】My intuition just tells me Intuition may be one of the most underrated bands which was overlooked in the end of 20th century. Formed in 1991 from Maryland, the year of their coming out was not good, because music world changed in 1990s. A hard blow to hair metal and melodic rock from the booming Grunge was the cause of those broken years. The only album of Intuition which can be found at present was released in 1994. This is an indie released record, but it's a must for aor fans to keep in collection. To believe it or not, this album titled "Turn It On !" is what I've considered as the most wonderful masterpiece in 1990s.
They created original songs with all efforts. This album is filled with passion and dedication. Faced with the uproar of "Grunge", they had to make the album themselves, because the record label thought they wouldn't have a place in the music market. An indie album not only refers to self-released record in the small studio or by indie labels, but also means all the money musicians have to undertake by themselves without support.
Indie released as this album is, their music is not inferior to any other big names whose albums are issued by big labels. With this debut released in 1994, the works from "Turn It On !" proved they were well-written and welcome, making styles perfectly combined hair metal with aor, and conveying the essence of nostalgic 1980s' tunes.
This track "Outta Love" as my favourite will prove the high-quality music of Intuition and become a cup of tea for most listeners. Bright keys by Chris McCoy and the vocals by Dean Jason make the energetic style. With massive backing vocals penetrating the choruses, this track is perfectly arranged.
Apart from this track, a superb aor gem, others like "Southside","Hearts Of Fire", "Heartless" and "Turn It On" are hair metal pearls. "Goin' Crazy', "In Love Again" and "Night By Night" are all energetic aor masterpieces like "Outta Love". And don't forget the power ballads as two versions of "Don't Let Me Go" and "Jaquline". With no weak songs IMO, my intuition once again tells me Intuition can be marked 10/10 without hesitation, because this is a hidden masterpiece that should never be missed. If there would be an opportunity to re-issue one CD, of course this one must be selected to be remastered.
Since Intuition is very rare to be cherished, it is an opportunity to know these indie musicians as there are more and more independent or self-released records coming out in the world, making by those hidden artists but many of them are really wonderful. Maybe marketing promotion is not an easy job, but now it can depend on social media or word of mouth. Anyway, if the music is good enough, it promotes itself. Like Intuition and the very precious "Turn It On !", they deserve all thumbs up by fans from past to today. Whoever still loves this kind of music as the charming hair metal and aor, undoubtedly has the best taste in best sounds.
