【Pls look at the top comment first】The year 1992 seemed to be just over the final part of hard/melodic rock explosion, but there must be terrific band with their epic album which came out during those periods of time. DC Drive and their self-titled album should never be overlooked, which symbolized the 1990s short periods of glorious days. So many short-lived legends with one-off album once hit rock n roll industry in history, including DC Drive, which seems to be rarely mentioned nowadays, but won great popularity during their living years in the past.

For loyal fans, DC Drive is not a strange name with a mighty and legendary predecessor "Adrenalin" in the 1980s. That is to say, into the 1990s, Adrenalin evolved into DC Drive and continued their glorious rocking careers. Adrenalin was well-known for their classic six-piece line-up, so was DC Drive, because DC Drive featured most of the members from Adrenalin. A hard/melodic rock band with a saxophonist as a full-time member was not common in history as both Adrenalin and DC Drive were the examples, so was Canadian legend Boulevard.

The six-piece line-up of DC Drive was comprised of two pairs of brothers: former Adrenalin members Brian Pastoria & Mark Pastoria and Jimmy Romeo & Mike Romeo plus vocalist Joey Bowen and bassist Doug Kahan. The Pastoria and the Romeo brothers have kept in cooperation since the mid 1970s as they were good friends in school.

Though Adrenalin's musical activities ended in the late 1980s, the band had created a huge buzz among fans and the music industry almost throughout the golden 1980s. Loyal fans must know their theme title hit single "Road Of The Gypsy", which featured in the 1986 film "Iron Eagle" as well as their first two epic albums and those superb single EPs, which symbolized the band's glrious years. By the end of Adrenalin's run as a band, the members had coped with the suicide of their original lead singer, David Larson. In 1987, Adrenalin was dropped by the label, but they never thought of giving up, so the two pairs of brothers formed DC Drive, picking up where Adrenalin left off. The former Adrenalin continually won awards throughout the late 1970s and well into the 1980s. This time DC Drive kept on brilliance by their epic album.

During all of these changes, the band realized that they wanted to record and produce themselves. Luckily, DC Drive was soon rewarded for their efforts with a recording deal from Capitol Records/EMI of Canada. DC Drive continued to collaborate with famed hard-rock producer, Vini Poncia for their album, who formerly produced Adrenalin's legendary albums "American Heart (1984)" and "Road Of The Gypsy (1986)". Their self-titled album is filled with rock and soul. As bassist Doug Kahan so gracefully put it, "Imagine the MC5 in bed with the Supremes." Musically, this album features rich elements on creation.

In this album, all the songs were created by the band's members with producer Vini Poncia, especially their bassist Doug Kahan, who wrote or co-wrote eight songs among all the ten songs. He is the owner of Kow Tai Studio, based in Nashville, U.S. They preciously won warm popularity in Canada as a band from Detroit, Michigan, United States.

The album and the opening track "You Need Love" won big success across Detroit and in Canada. "You Need Love" is a hair metal gem with a music video, featuring strong riffs and compacted beats. This song "All I Want" is a pure aor masterpiece as the second single from the album, truly blessing for ears. For people fond of hard rock tunes, most remaining tracks are the desirable choices, featuring splendid guitars, solid drum beats and gripping backing vocals. "Fool In Love" is an outstanding power ballad filled with emotions.

In 2002, Adrenalin released their superb compilation record "Twenty-five Years 1977-2002", including the past hits from both Adrenalin and CD Drive. The two bands can be considered as one. This song "All I Want" and "You Need Love" were both in the compilation.

DC Drive garnered many awards and much recognition, including 7 nominations and 4 awards including Best Rock Group and Best Single ("You Need Love") at the Motor City Music Awards. The band disbanded in 1993 when Joey Bowen quit to "do his own thing" and Doug Kahan went to Nashville, leaving this epic album in history. But one thing can be sure that Adrenalin and DC Drive have been spread once again since that compilation's coming out. In June 2015, Adrenalin as inducted into the Michigan Rock n Roll Legends Hall of Fame.
