honestly, i thought this video was going to be cancer and piss me off, but it was great. when I look up this scene to watch it again (I've seen it dozens of times) I see a ton of cancerous channels making a "reaction" to it and basically make a mockery of Chinese Kung Fu, but you actually did your homework and closely analyzed each move Donnie made and gave intellectual input on why the scene is so amazing. well fucking done this was so satisfying

To be honest I got kind of excited when seeing this on my subscription feed. Hopefully you could do the final fight between Ip Man and Twister eventually. It would definitely be much longer. And like you've mentioned for this fight, Ip Man uses his Wing Chun very defensively. I've noticed some time ago (after seeing all the Ip Man countless times) that Ip Man never attacks first but waits to counterattack in his fight scenes.

The insanely intricate & complicated way the fight scenes in the IP Man trilogy are staged, photographed & edited make American fight sequences look like a miserable joke. Jesus do the filmmakers over there seem to have infinitely greater instincts when it comes to where the camera oughta be for each & every blow & how to edit it for maximum impact. It boggles my mind, with how much money is spent on US made action pictures, how dismally the hand to hand combat stuff looks in comparison to what South Korean, Japanese, Indonesian & Chinese regularly puts out. Even beloved stuff like The Matrix doesn't even hold a candle to the kinds of remarkable artistry displayed in stuff like IP Man...
