How Damage System Works - The Systems of Warframe - Additive & Multiplicative Damage Buffs

The first episode of THE SYSTEMS OF WARFRAME!!!! It sounds much cooler inside my head...

Damage in Warframe is very important, but how does it work. There is two systems, additive and multiplicative. To keep it extremely too freaking simple: the multiplicative system builds uppon the additive system, so if the additive damage is not high, the multiplicative will not do much as well.

Additive damage buffs come from:
- Dammage mods (Serration, Hornet Strike...)
- Primary & Secondary Arcanes
- Combo damage multiplier on Melle weapons
- Fire rate (Red ones go fasta') (also faster you shoot, more damage you put out, more you kill :D)
- Helminth Invigoration (The most overpowered system in the game, for real)
- Obviously there is many more, but those are the most common ones.

Multiplicative damage buffs come from:
- Status damage mods (Cryo Rounds, Thermite Rounds...)
- Warframe abilities (Eclipse & Roar)
- Headshots (2x or 3x damage multiplier)
- Far more.

Good stuff, you definitely explained the math well. Question for you. Do you know if Galvanized apptitude falls under additive or multiplictive?

In the video @1:32 you used serration w/165% dmg. I was wondering where the extra 100% came from in the calculation? What am i missing?

So... as far as I could tell... Serration, and mods similar to it like Cryo Rounds and such, are additive mods. While mods like Volcanic edge are multiplicative.

And since your base damage went up much further with the serration-esque mods (additive) vs the multiplicative mods (Rime rounds, high voltage) it seems that the additive mods are better since they affect your total rather than the multiplicative ones because despite being able to add onto your overall damage... it only uses your base damage rather than adding elemental damage to all of it... I hope I made my question clear enough, i apologize if it isn't.

Helo mate, I have question.
If I use Primed Pressure Point (melee damage), is useless if I wearing Arcane Fury(melee damage) on Warframe?

Wait. If the Raw damage is the one used in the calculation, and not the base damage of the weapon, wouldnt it make sense to have the highest raw damage possible even if additive, for the sake of having everything else multiply off a higher number?

How do you know which mods are additive and which mods are multiplicative? You might have explained it but it went over my head
