Cirrus markets the new SR20 as a dual-role aircraft — easy to manage for a newer pilot and suitable for business travel. It's also an airplane that can make for an easier transition to the faster SR22. In this video, "Aviation Consumer" editor Larry Anglisano, along with Cirrus' Cliff Allen takes a close look at the SR20 on the ground and in the air.

Working at an airport, I can tell you that a Cirrus doesn't come close to being one of the most expensive aircraft flown by pleasure/business pilots. Try the PA46 and upwards of there... Had a lovely Cessna 425 in the other day. The Cirrus really is upper entry level when it comes to aircraft cost.
The reality is that the "rich" guys wouldn't bother with one of these - they go straight to a PC12.

The Cirrus reminds me of my 1968 Beagle Pup Series 2.

The Continental 6 cylinder was so great that they switched to a Lycoming 4 cylinder on the new ones.

456LB is a fine airplane to fly and it looks great! It's loaded with style and comfort.

I'm struggling to comprehend how someone thinks those abrupt control movements (slaps) were a good idea. A quick reminder for this salesman the next time he wants to demonstrate this aircrafts abilities at 134 Kts;

"Va - Manoeuvring speed; The highest safe airspeed for abrupt control deflections" is 120 Kts at 2600 Lbs, their approximate weight.

LOL, $300, 000 dollars is entry level only for the 1% of us that can afford it. For the other 99% of us, real people, an "entry level" plane is a Cessna 172 from the 1970s for the "cheap" price of $50, 000. Yay for general aviation!

Funny to hear them bragging about the wonderful Continental 6 cylinder. They dumped that motor for a Lycoming 4 cylinder in the new ones. That Continental motor is junk. Never seems to make TBO and you have to replace cylinders all the time.

The opinion over on the Cirrus owners' forum seems to be that the SR-20 is underpowered, especially in the Western US where you have to climb to get over mountainous areas.  It's too bad, because otherwise it's a very appealing airplane.

"And I can whack the controls, and the airplane just wants to return to its "trimmed condition."

If the airplane was equipped with a mechanical "arm and hand, " it would raise its arm and hand, pull the arm back, and hit the pilot in the back of the head with its hand. The designers of the Cirrus SR20 could call this feature the "B!TCH SLAPS" - short for "Brainless Individuals That Create Hazards Sudden Leveling And Pounding System"! The airplane would maintain level flight (that's where the sudden leveling comes into play), and pound (or smack the pilot) in the back of the head for being a "brainless individual that creates hazards.

B - BRAINLESS
! - INDIVIDUALS
T - THAT
C - CREATE
H - HAZARDS

S - SUDDEN
L - LEVELING
A - AND
P - POUNDING
S - SYSTEM

Cirrus, you may use this in your next airplane. You're welcome!
