Swan Lake - Dance of the Little Swans - Pacific Northwest Ballet

Lev Ivanov's choreography for the famous Dance of the Little Swans (or Dance des petits cygnes) was meant to imitate the way cygnets huddle and move together for protection. The dance requires rigorous rehearsing to build stamina and to achieve near-exact unison.

Ever since I was little, the dance of the little swans has *always* been my favorite of Swan Lake and just all ballet choreography in general tbh

Swan lake is probably one of the best dances because of how much effort and how smooth the moves are 👍im also early and great ballet performances

0:41 i loooove that tiny leg movement that they do before changing their arabesque! I can never find a good quality video on youtube of pas de quatrefoil where that movement is included. `Most of the just have girls changing the leg without it, and it just doesn't feel the same, and finally i found it!!!

I’ve done this dance with my class, (around 13 kids) and it is soooo hard. We were so out of sync and it was hilarious

Yep....this is significantly "faster". 96 BPM piano rehearsal. Orchestra pulls and pushes tempo around 108 BPM on stage. Everyone loves the little swans. You work very hard, ladies. You make the magic. :-) :-)

The dancers by the rehearsal video were Carli Samuelson, Amanda Clark, Liora Neuville and Leta Biasucci. Two different dancers here. Very beautiful tho.

Swan Lake is always one of my favorite ballets to look forward to. Granted, I've enjoyed all of PNB's ballets but Swan Lake is my favorite, likely because of the music combined with the dancing.
