I honestly was more excited for Avowed then Starfield, no disservice to that game as what they showed looked awesome and I love that there bringing back a lot of RPG mechanics that were missing in Fallout 4. I am worried about the 1000 planets as to me it just screams most of them will be resource farming and settlement building planets. But as long as they get a balance between handcrafted planets and procedural I will be fine with it. But Obsidian is my favorite RPG dev, and I was looking real forward to Avowed after The Outer Worlds and Pillars of Eternity blew me away. Pentiment looks alright, but I was kind of hoping for a isometric CRPG like Disco Elysium.

I am with you in thinking Starfield would be a much stronger with a handful of well crafted worlds vs a ton of procedural ones. Planets are huge and can have a ton of variation within them, and our own solar system has a scale that would suit a big sci-fi game. New Horizons took 9-10 years to get to Pluto after being the fastest craft ever launched + gravity assists. 8-12 planets with moons could make a very interesting game, especially if the system was newly discovered.

Came in with zero expectations, leaving out the same way. Thx for the coverage update!

what saddens me about starfield is a) the AI seems to be as dumb as ever and b) when todd promises big things like thousands of fully explorable planets, it most likely is just lies

I wonder if I am actually looking forward to Starfield's dialogue: "There is another planet that needs your attention."

Starfield hasn't promised us much but it feels like Cyberpunk 2077.

I was so hyped for starfield until the reveal. I expected better weapon models, combat and movement. It all just looked stiff and lacking animations.

Yeah the amount of things that you can apparently do in starfeild stood out to me. It sounds very ambitious. Very.

I prefer to think about all those planets in Starfield, not so much as empty as being a primed canvas for modders to work on.

Take a shot everytime mortisamal says "If you will"! Great coverage, looking forward to Red Fall, in spite of its lackluster reveal so far.

Being trained by "gameplay footage" in the past i noted a lack of disclaimer anywhere on the screen ("alpha ingame footage" or similar) same goes for the quick cuts and only very short passages being shown... and then Todd Howard cut inbetween for pr-talk... Suspicious indeed

I thought Avowed wasn't in there because they were pretty clear at the beginning that everything being showcased would be available within 12 months.

I played Skyrim. I played Skyrim With Guns. I'll probably play No Man's Skyrim...
If it ships with a thousand barren worlds to explore I'm sure modders will all want to add planets of their own. The handmade planets should make for an interesting twist, and be easy to implement without causing conflicts with other mods.

1000 planets was the opposite of a selling point when I heard it. I'm really hoping that this game will be good but I definitely don't want to travel around hundreds of planets just to occasionally find a few that actually has detailed content on it.

I was not impressed by Starfield. The gunplay looks like The Division, the World has a No Man Sky feels.

You missed Fable's non-appearance as well.

Fable and Avowed have me the most hyped: Fable because it's coming back, hopefully the team faithfully resurrects its spirit. As for Avowed, hopefully that game turns out to be a Skyrim in the 'fame' regards, I feel like it will be Obsidian's game of the decade if done right.

Love your content and much agree with your thoughts! I also think that castelvania-vibed indie title “Bendict Fox” looked really cool. And Silksong. Some promising stuff.

I think they mentioned what they show cased was something you can play in 6-12 months.

My biggest problem with Starfield is it feels like the early days of No Man's Sky, and if it's Ebthesda, they'll leave all the "fixing-up" to the community, and then charge for it, so it has the potential to be another FO76. That being said, if it's actually a good game, it completely change Bethesda's Reputation. I was more excited to hear that Persona 3 G, and P5R are coming to PC than anything else in this event.
