Xbox is closing down a historically rough and surprising 2022 with major game delays and shocking growth with their biggest games pushed into 2023. But it looks like the Xbox brand is about to wake up from a deep hibernation with a new Game Event Showcase and a reveal of some surprising new Exclusives for the start of 2023 and it’s happening sooner than you expected.

I'm tired of waiting. I'd rather have one new 1st party game released already by the end of January rather than some promise of a showcase... I'm tired of postponing 1st party games because Microsoft thinks they'd steal spotlight from 3rd party AAA hits. Time to prove it's MS who has hits. Oh and please do release Starfield the same day as Final Fantasy XVI just to disrupt Sony-Square's shady deal.

Honestly, High on Life was as good as any PlayStation AAA release. It wasn't the same old same old, truly original, I loved it. I also loved Horizon Forbidden West this year on PlayStation but other than that, it was a quiet 2022 for all 3 consoles. Not a fan of GoW Ragnarok personally.

One thing that is constantly overlooked is that XBOX supports their games way longer than other consoles. It’s not always about big releases. Sea of Thieves, Forza and State of Decay are constantly updating. State of Decay is basically a new game. This constant focus on Microsoft’s lack of PlayStation style third person action games completely ignores what they do release. Think about this though, why is Sony making less and less single player third person action adventure games and moving full steam into games as a service?

On a side note, if Pentiment was released on PlayStation and got a 10 on IGN, people would still be talking about it. Heck, Stray gets way more shine.

High On Life, Grounded releasing 1.0, and Sea of Thieves and Halo Infinite’s AMAZING updates deserved WAY more fanfare then they received. I’ve been really enjoying this year on Team Xbox personally 🤷🏿‍♂️

Lots to look forward to but expect further delays to avoid dissapointment!

Having just seen the Stalker trailer I know I'll be buying it and after seeing the devs camping out in stairwells and standing in full fatigues saying they'd finish the game once they'd won the war I got something in my eye.

I honestly found the trailer to be super dramatic to the point of melodrama but I know if the game has any shortcomings I'll forgive them and it's the only game I'll preorder.

I like Colt and his content but the title is misleading. "Xbox FINALLY reveals showcase." No they haven't. They hinted at releasing information soon. One might click on this video thinking there is a date or official announcement of a showcase.
