Guys, you do realize the song is about a man whose woman left him right? And he's telling her he'll take her back anytime. The Spinners have an amazing catalog. For purely romantic one, do Could It Be I'm Falling in Love?

J & Amber, you'll love their "Could It Be I'm Falling in Love", "One of a Kind (Love Affair)", "Games People Play" and more!!!!
They are a reason 70s music was amazing!! edit- several members sang lead vocals in this group. Most of their commercial success came after they moved from Motown to Atlantic Records in 1972.

They became much more successful once they left Motown. After they signed with Atlantic records they had 7 top 10 hits. Their 70s hits became more known as "Philadelphia soul" which was the sound that produced numerous hits with The Spinners, Stylistics and Delfonics.

This is one of my all-time favorite songs. You can't go wrong with The Spinners!

Though this song's chorus gives the impression of a dedicated romantic partner, it's actually a breakup song, opening with the line "We've reached a fork in the road" and following with the singer saying that his partner has made her choice and it's now up to him to "bow out gracefully." Then, he says that if she ever needs him, he'll be there. She has chosen someone else now and he has to go away, but he still wants to be there for her.

The song is about a couple breaking up. They've "reached our fork in the road" the singer got dumped. " you made your choice and now it's up to me to bow out gracefully"
He is stepping back up not giving up letting them know that if they change their mind he still wants them in his life.

There wouldn’t be a Todd Rundgren or Hall & Oates without these guys… and the many great Philly should groups of the 60’s and 70’s.

I'll Be Around was initially released as the B-side, "How Could I Let You Get Away" was the A-side. Radio deejays opted for "I'll Be Around" which led to Atlantic Records to flip the single over. The song became an unexpected hit, eventually spending five weeks at number one on the U.S. R&B chart and reaching number three on the U.S. Pop chart in the fall of 1972.

This is one of those smooth and uplifting songs you can play just about any old time.

I forget which Spinners songs I've seen on this channel, but "Games People Play" is iconic, as are "Then Came You, " "Working My Way Back to You, " and "Could It Be I'm Falling in Love." I think you've probably done "Rubberband Man."

Legendary group. Lot of work left to do with them: "Mighty Love", "It's a Shame", "Could it be I'm Falling in Love", "Then came You", "Sadie", "They Just Can't Stop It (The Games People Play)", "Working My Way Back to You" and "Cupid".

Gotta LOVE the Spinners!!! Three of my favorites are "Could It Be I'm Falling In Love, " "Working My Way Back To You / Forgive Me, Girl" and "Then Came You" (with Dionne Warwick).

This is not Motown!!! This is the Philly Sound! The Spinners originally with Motown during the 1960’s Had very minimal success. In 1972 they signed with Atlantic Records and legendary Producer Thom Bell out of Philadelphia. It was this move that would make them one of the best R&B groups of the 1970’s. Producer Thom Bell along with Linda Creed wrote and produced I’ll be around and many other classic Spinners songs. The Philly Sound at its finest!

I vacillate between music of the 1970’s and 1980’s being the best. When I hear the Spinners I go all the way to the 1970’s especially with this song.

You guys need to go down the Spinners rabbit hole. Sooo many great songs..."Then Came You, " "One Of A Kind Love Affair, " "Workin' My Way Back To You, " "Cupid, " this list goes on and on. If you can find live performances that's a bonus because of the moves, baby! lol. Love watching you two react.

It’s an emotional song because he starts off saying “this is our fork in the road…. Loves last episode ” but he still longs for her!

From among the male groups of the 70s, The Spinners is one of the very smoothest. Excellent production quality, vocals, instruments, everything!

The message in the lyrics is that even though the girl thinks that they need to go their separate ways in their relationship, he hopes she will eventually change her mind and want him back. Hence, "Whenever you call me, I'll be there."

Amber: "that part of the song brings a smile to my face!"
Amber, that benefits everyone, you beautiful young lady!
