This week's guest is Find Batukizer (formerly known as Epic Vinyls From Brazil). They are Rasmus from Copenhagen and Dona Carla from Rio de Janeiro. They spend a lot of time finding records and playing DJ sets with amazing and little-known music. They’ve toured festivals and venues throughout Europe, India and Brazil.
A selection with the purpose to start up your day gently with Brazilian rhythms, messages of peace, love, knowledge and good vibes. It’s a dive into selected songs from different regions using music from private and independent labels only. Some of the tunes have not been available before.
This session was recorded in Nørrebro, Copenhagen.

This Rasmus' setlist would put on fire every dancefloor on the alternative scene that here in Brazil we call "festa de brasilidades" (some organizers created a kind of party in which are played some local music in its majority from this very same epoch of these songs and from different rhythms). Some songs that I'm listening on this set were not known to me, just to tell how deep he dug on the discography of my country.
For the part of the Brazilians that know a bit of our cultural history and try to show it in the best possible light and colors, these songs of this time tend to be seen in a very caring way. These were times in which singers and composers used to have a very deeply rooted sense of transcendence that can be felt on their voices and how they pushed the limits of music recording in a very particular way.

Some suggestions for next setlists with Brazilian songs: one with the ones that would be heard in samba-rock venues. For sure a lot of people here in São Paulo city would love and there's also the curiosity that some international songs can be joined in the list, like "Check My Machine" (Paul McCartney) and "Beautiful Morning" (Hardage feat. Jocelyn Brown), as their tempos match perfectly the way samba-rock is danced despite not having anything that could be linked to samba. The other suggested setlist is one with the successes of 1980s Brazilian rock n' roll, another golden period of the local music scene, with some artists like Lobão and Cazuza and bands like Legião Urbana, Paralamas do Sucesso, Kid Abelha, Blitz, Capital Inicial and Barão Vermelho (from which Cazuza was at the vocals until his solo career).
