"Tu Veux Ou Tu Veux Pas", sang by Brigitte Bardot, is a version in French of "Nem Vem Que Não Tem", a huge success here in Brazil in the voice of Wilson Simonal, a singer that would be as important an have world projection as Roberto Carlos if didn't make a huge mistake in 1971 that undermined his career. Both the version in Portuguese and in French were written by Carlos Imperial, a guy of huge importance in Brazilian cultural scene between the 1960s and 1980s that revealed not only Roberto Carlos and Wilson Simonal but also Erasmo Carlos, Tim Maia, Elis Regina, Clara Nunes and a plethora of other artist that put Brazilian music on another level and even establishing points of contact with the world culture of those times (see Roberto Carlos winning the San Remo Festival in 1968, for example). For Europeans that associate "Roberto Carlos" more to the former football player that played in Internazionale, Real Madrid and Fenerbahçe and astonished everyone with his insanely strong and precise kicks to the goal, know that he was named after the homonymous singer and considers it an honor.

the french 60's were really a huge time for french musical culture imo.

the Yé-yé genre was mostly inspired by the music from the Anglo-Saxon world during the 60-66, and was much appreciated by the baby boomer youth, in opposition to the "chansons à texte" of artists such as George Brassens, Serge Gainsbourg, Nino Ferrer, Jean Ferrat, etc...

In the mouth of the older generation, "yé-yé" was also a way to mock the music taste of the younger generation, saying more or less "There's no sense to the lyrics, it's just yé-yé-yé all the time, we can't call that music" (i'm generalizing ngl, I wasn't born during the yé-yé era unfortunately), while the baby boomer however, said that there were better melodies than in text songs.

The yé-yé inspired more artists in France after the end of this genre in 1966, for example : Les forbans, Dorothée, Lio, Sheila, Étienne Daho, etc...

If you ever want to look for more music from the Yé-yé, you should really go ahead and search for them! my personal favourite from this era is Eddy Mitchell and his band Les Chaussettes Noires !

Merci à Can pour ce mix de chansons de la France des années 60 ! La musique de ces années ne devraient jamais disparaître !
Teşekkür ederim !

I listened to Champ Elysees back in high school after buying a french pop compilation album and i thought i was so cool for having such a unique taste in music but i lacked the self confidence. now all these years later i realize i was right. I had and still have excellent taste in music. God do i love listening to new music so much. Hope everybody else here feels that way. Cheers, fellow listeners.

What caught my attention is that the passing-by people at Istanbul were the first to hear this playlist on a live basis, almost as if Can was trying to uplift the mood of people tired to stay long periods inside their houses due to the pandemia. Music being played on the streets or able to be listened at a street level is becoming an universal tool in this year when Earth stopped.
