As a product of bad parenting, I found that there were the same dysfunctions in society: its not okay to just be; huge expectations and perfectionism and it's what I look like and become that matters . And If you're struggling emotionally and need help, you're crazy.
Very, very dysfunctional.
It's all about giving the right impression.
Something I couldn't care less about.

I don't think it's so easy to be a good parent. When I had pets, I had no idea of the huge commitment required . I messed up a lot although I loved them like family . A lot of guilt still . That's life . Learning to forgive ourselves and others.

Kind parenting produces a culture of safe men who don't harass women.
They say alcohol causes all the problems.

Lead by example . I had no respect for what my parents were telling me unless they did the same. Like our father said don't drink alcohol but he drank. You lose all credibility that way. Or parents who tell their boys to respect women or girls but then they date before marriage putting pressure on them to have sex, or they call them friends getting the girl emotionally attached. Sometimes they make mistakes but it's important not to freak out . Mistakes are human but society is trying to create perfectionists.
