This was an excellent study, I remember when it came out years ago. I also went sleuthing for the extended video in their database 😅 The fact that the Sebring driver survived their severe injuries was a testament to the structure rating and side airbags for sure, but despite that, it was clear the curtain airbag had barely enough forward coverage for someone sitting halfway up for further in the seat track (but what 2000s era curtain ever did?), and the original side test system just wasn’t up to par with many irl wrecks, considering all the heavy SUVs and trucks out there. Was cool to see them come out with the revised test!
