I left my family 2 years ago. I kept getting confirmation from God. I was always the peacemaker, stuck in the middle, and wanting to talk about family issues and secrets instead of brushing it under the rug since I was a child. I always felt like the black sheep. I cut them all off, got closer to God, breaking generational curses, and I’m at peace!

Amen. While you're at it, don't be deceived by toxic people who are in church every other day or every week. They can be in church every time the doors are opened and still be angry, unloving, unsafe, and rebellious against God. Let the Holy Spirit lead you.

I grew up as the black sheep and scapegoat in my family because I always tried to address the truth but they never wanted to truly change. They always projected their issues on me. I recently cut them off for good. After I cut them off God delivered me from trauma, anxiety, and depression. I’ve never felt so much peace in my life! They have no more power over me. I thank God that he pulled me out of the deception I was living in. 🙏🏾♥️ PRAISE GOD!

I have done this and NEVER looked back. Changed my number and in a whole new city and state. I still pray for them and love them very much, but I love me too as well as my sanity.

Its been 2 years since I have gone no contact with my siblings. I have never been happier and I am on a healing journey. I think of them and pray for them. They are all still stuck on childhood drama. I wanted to change and be a whole person. This is the first time I have seen this topic from a biblical viewpoint. Very interesting! ... Being a christian doesn't mean you are a doormat for others!

If your biological family is toxic and abusive God will give you a loving spiritual family.
When He was on the cross He pointed out...this is now your mother and your brother etc.
My mother was very sick with panic attacks and anxiety when I was growing up.
I had to find other women who modeled healthy motherly behavior towards me.
My mom eventually recovered and was healed and delivered and now we have the best mother daughter bond, but I didn't talk to her for 10 years.
She just wasn't healthy and it wasn't healthy for me to interact with her.
We had a period of restoration where we talked about everything and we forgave eachother.
God is so good ❤️.

Thank you for this. It's been 5 years since I left my family and moved 12 hours away. It's just my husband and I and our children. I still and will always love them....but I had to do what was best for my soul. Peace.

My husband and I hitchhiked across the country for the first two months of our marriage. It was just us. No friends and NO FAMILY to run to when we got into disagreements. We had to work together in ways that really challenged us. There was no way to lie or hide how we handled stress and compromise or what was truly valued. It really gave us a solid foundation on which to build a life and family. We were able to maintain our boundaries with pushy family members and stand strong together. I think you have to separate yourselves as a married couple from the get go.

This is amazing that God brought me here right when i was deciding to do this, i reached out one more time to tell my family i was doing this and my parents told me i was being selfish when i am one of the nicest, most caring, loving people in the world. My whole life they say im too nice, naive and gullible, but as soon as i want to get closer to God im selfish. Im done with this toxic and fallen world. Praise YAH!
