Unfortunately for us I think he's probably right. We as humans do very very stupid stuff and always find out the hard way.

Someday human beings will have self awareness, hopefully

I think humanity is doing exactly what we were biologically programmed to do… Evolve . This is the next step. But it may not work out the way WE want it to . 🤦‍♂️

Evolution goes from chemistry to biology to technology

The big question is, if the AI's begin to create, and somehow manage to control their own on and off switch. There will be the good AI's, and the bad AI's, just as there are good and bad people who program them. Some will be used as instruments or weapons of war.

Why are people so worried about AI taking over? Are current humans in charge of world affairs that noble? 😅

every time we enter a new age of tech it's the end of the world, or the end of humanity.
It's like asking people in 1923 to describe the tech of 2023. It can't be done. So to ask what it will be like to live with and use AI in everyday life can't be imagined yet. Some people can only imagine the very worst outcome and there is very little chance they are correct.

What moral responsibility would Humanity have towards entities we create that suffer?

I don't know guys
A chatbot on a mail order site kept asking for a part number to look up.
If I knew the part number I would not have to look it up.

It's much easier to pick the most logical outcome when you have no morals or emotions. We look down on people who have no emotion or morals but are driving forward at full speed with excitement with creating an AI with none and are just tickled with the idea.

When Palpatine warns about A.I. you better listen.

I always knew this would be a thing. I knew the Terminator story was very plausible and here we are at the brink of it all. Were past the stage of Miles Dyson working on those computer systems that eventually became “self-aware” . Anyone who doubts this is living in a fantasyland.

I think there’s a lot of animals more intelligent than us. That’s why they don’t talk to us, they know we can’t think that deep. 🦉🐒

Thanks for honest answer .
" Does humanity know what it's doing ? NO " ... FOR SURE 😐

We shouldn't be experimenting with AI at all. This is freaking crazy.

If the issue remains "Us" and "They"(A.I. hardware&software machinery). There is also the possibility of merging. An extra layer "on top" of our celebrale cortex or similar biologic-nonbiologic combo. Or even with programmable bio-nerve‐chips kinda stuff ...Simply joined with a human brain.
Then there is no us and them....

This maybe out there but there’s a prediction that was made decades ago that there will come a time in society in which humans will be debating the question of whether AI should be considered conscious beings or not.
It will divide society.

Maybe in the future as AI explores the vast space of infinite choices and possibilities, it will see humans as useful explorers of data frontiers. AI may use brute force search of some kind to search for solutions and knowledge, but perhaps human intuition and exploration as teachers and researchers will still have some utility.

If you can reach the speed of light all you have to do is launch a projectile out of the front of that object and it'll pass the speed of light

They will not be smarter than us, faster but not smarter. It can only learn what we teach it. The scary part is it can be taught very dangerous things.
