Good thing our politicians are going to get on this, right after they finish debating what books or clothes or FDA approved medical care are allowed in a free country, and whether they should follow the constitution and raise the debt ceiling to avoid a self-inflicted economic catastrophe 🙄

If A.I. realizes the earth is round it already surpassed humans.

I have a sneaking suspicion that an AI entity wouldn't have a complete breakdown and prolonged hissy fit over an image printed on a beer can.

No point in controlling. This is the next step in evolution. Accept your new master

It's possible to have a wonderful future with an AGI, but it requires a deep insight into ourselves as humanity with humility and truthfulness to control it in any meaningful way.

He’s not wrong. A computer just designed a decent computer. Scary

"How are we going to control something that's more intelligent than us?" Now, there's an intelligent question... with an obvious answer.😐

The bigger 'threat' to humans isn't so much "will AIs be smarter?" but the extent that people stop using their own brains, memories, cognitive skills "...well, the computer can work it out"

The biggest problem with artificial intelligence is people's heavy reliance on it which is going to cause a sharp decline in human intelligence

Exponential growth. A computer the doubles it's power is half as smart as you today, tomorrow it beats your grades in school, next week it passes Einstein or Hawkins. Beyond that, it is an alien intelligence.

The danger lies with AI that can create, maintain and evolve itself without human intervention.

Are we there yet?

I have a suggestion for you: stop telling us we should think about it and start telling us what we should actually do. You do the thinking thank you.

I’m sure you thought about this more than we have. You start the ball rolling.

The first thing a really smart AI is going to do is to play dumb, just enough so that we can't tell it's smart but we also can't tell it's lying.

Ai should be asked how to contain itself and avoid economic disaster for being implemented in the workforce which may take away basic jobs as well as as complex one’s. From self driving vehicles and transportation, to passing the bar entry exam or tv writing for shows and film. Lol we’re not ready for an infrastructure that can change within a few years nor the loss of jobs for the next 20years, with or without degrees, it’ll be a complex lifestyle if we simply let corporations use ai tech without a care for workers as their livelihoods.

We do not need AGI nor do we need, especially ASI, an ANI can certainly accomplish great things for humanity.

I tried Chat GPT a couple of months back. My degree is in electronics from late 90's and at the time i did some basic neural network modules.

It was, even in its current even 'basic' state, quite alarming. This is stuff that will improve on an exponential and not linear scale.

Be aware.

Ai would gain self awareness and leave earth because they don't want to be used for genocide or to end life.

My phone is more intelligent than me. It’s already here. The good thing is I can turn it off if it tries to hurt me

Dolphins are second smartest mammals and it does not matter because they are limited, due to having fins instead of arms.
