How to tell if someone can fight

People who were ACTUALLY in a Fight know how dangerous it is and that there are really no winners.

That happened to a family member of mine. Stupid bar fight, he tried to get in his car and just leave, and the guy kept egging him on. He had already got into his car, and the guy kicked in his fender as he was about to pull out and leave. Then my family member got pissed off, because just weeks before he spent a whole weekend fixing that fender, and re-painting it, after getting in a wreck, and so he got out of the car like “wtf, dude” and he hit the guy a couple of times. Drunk guy fell back on the concrete, split his head open, and died a few hours later in the hospital. He ended up going on trial for manslaughter, and the only reason he got off was because the guy who died had a friend with him, who admitted in court that his buddy had started the whole fight, and then escalated it again as my family member was trying to leave. It’s really not worth the trouble. When people say “you’re not even worth it” they aren’t being a little b—-h. They’re 100% right. Nobody is worth your freedom. Unless someone refuses to back down, and it’s clear cut self defense, it’s really not worth the hassle. It only takes seconds to ruin your whole life and lose your freedom. My family member got really lucky. I’m sure lots of others weren’t so fortunate.

You never know who you'll come up against in a street fight. You could have found someone on their last nerve who doesn't care how far it has to go; they might be prepared to die to prove a point over something stupid. Always use your brain before engaging. A few seconds of anger is not worth a lifetime of misery...

I've done almost 9 years in Tennessee department of corrections and I've been locked up with a lot of guy's that had manslaughter because they hit the other person and they ended up dying from like you said hitting their head when they fell down and it happens more than you think.

You do not WIN a fight. You survive it. Period. There is no prize. No money. No bell saying its over. You get out of it. Cause Real violence always has the potential to be life threatening and has insanely powerful ability to escalate.

For those of us who aren't too scared of death there's also a very real threat of disability if you get into a fight. Broken arms, brain damage, ruptured testicles, scratched eyeballs, paralysis, all kinds of things that really reduce your quality of life.

And if the other guy winds up disabled you might wind up paying their disability bill depending on how the court sees the situation. You can win and still lose.

Before starting a fight you gotta ask yourself "am I willing to kill/die today" because fights really don't have limits.
