please like this video :)

I was working in a car today and took a quick shot of how to either replace a oem cigarette lighter with a universal or add some more around the car for the family so when everyone needs to plug in there electronics they have spots in the car.

What kind of device is used to connect the hot red power wire to the pin?

Thank you so much! I have an ae86, and my cig lighter works fine, but wont charge anything. I dont smoke anyways but want to keep it stock looking, so now i can just tap into that line and run an nfc charger underneath! So excited x3

I got most of that. I just don't get why the kids would need a GPS when they aren't the ones driving. LOL

Very helpful sir my question is I seen some other videos where they were also putting a fuse in between is that necessary and is it for some safety reasons for the circuits please lmk thank you

So, the wire splicer that came in the kit, do I use that only for the positive? And do I use the negative that is from the original wires to make the ground?

That didn't help me at all on how to do it and though you didn't show me how to plug a hot wire to a round metal nob you were pretty upbeat and nice.

I bought a USB/power source from an auto parts store with the intention of wiring it in parallel with the existing wires but I found that the existing cigarette lighter is energized even when the engine is off. I would prefer to wire it to a source that turns off with the engine. Any chance you might know of a spot? I haven't checked the radio power supply because I'm assuming it has power all the time since I don't have to reset my clock every time I start the car

So do you have to buy a bump connector to attach the hot wire?

It came with two black wires one had the clamp on it for the ground and the other was just a black wire do I use that to connect to the positive or it has to be a red wire too

If I add a 2nd plug, tied into the first one, am I going to have any problems by possibly drawing too much current? I assume this would blow the cigarette lighter fuse?

They also sell adapters that accept your phone charging. Just don't buy at local stores and pay a lot. Look on auctions sites with free shipping, My take a month to get but nice to have around.

I went to buy a cigarette lighter socket so I could use it to charge things. The guy looked inside the empty hole where the socket goes and said I needed the stuff that goes in the back to. I asked him whats it called but he didnt know. He did say that I should go to a scrap yard as the whole unit would be cheaper there then buying it from a shop.

My question is what was he referring to when he said that I needed the stuff that goes in the back as well as the socket? Is he talking about the wiring? What do I ask for when I go to the scrap yard to buy it?

Thanks

After I buy the unit should I fit it in myself or would it be better ifI took it to a mechanic?

I don't want to take it to a mechanic as they can charge a lot even for a small job. Will it be easy for me to fit in a unit myself?

So with the 2005 subaru baja's there are additional ports in the rear seat, but not in the 2003 model which is what I have. I want to add one where the 2005 model has one, but there is no wiring leading to that point for it. Can I tie it off the existing port in the front without overdrawing the electricity the port would normally have?

Is there a fuse that I can check before I go through all that work ?

How do you tie in the additional wires?  Do I attach all the positive wires together in the same spot and them crimp them together?  (Then the same for negative?)

Jeep Wrangler: One socket shorts out all the time (causing the fuse to blow), the other suddenly just doesn't work (fuse is fine). Is there another reason why both my sockets would fail around the same time? It's a 9 year old vehicle. Do I just need to replace both? Can I just screw in two new sockets or do I need to take panels off and whatnot?
