Learn ASL: Beginner Lesson for Family Signs, Part 1: Immediate Family in American Sign Language

In this video, practice the signs for MOTHER, FATHER, DAUGHTER, SON, SISTER, BROTHER, and so on. You'll notice that female signs tend to be signed at chin-level, and male signs at the temple/forehead. You may see some variation in these signs, particularly with respect to starting handshape (given the compound sign history explained in the video).
