‘One day I realized that all I was doing was writing the obituary of the ocean’ — This conservationist left his academic career to work for National Geographic and help save vital places in the world’s seas.

Enric Sala left a lucrative teaching career because he felt like he was idly watching the ocean die. Now he works with National Geographic to save vital places in the world’s seas.

Sala founded the Pristine Seas project, which works with governments and communities globally to create marine protected areas. He says a healthy ocean can work to mitigate the effects of climate change.

Think about what he said: "All I was doing was to write the obituary of 71 % of the earth." That is truly frightening!

I already do my part in cutting out sea food completely, cutting back on plastic waste, and supporting conservation efforts. Whats everyone else doing?

Beautiful spoken!!! We have a say in what areas get protected in the US. Let's make it happen by not having anything happen to areas!!!

Too many people think that the oceans are so vast that their tiny impact is nothing. But multiply you by the 7 billion people on earth, you can then see how big an impact on our oceans 😩

I hope we start protecting the oceans better.

So in line with my train of thought! I recently uploaded a video on the health of the Blue Heron Bridge and how fishing is devastating the wildlife there. Protect our land and waters!

Water absorbs heat and as old as the industrial revolution is the ocean has barely turned one cycle. Experts believe if it were not for the ocean we would already be twenty-one degrees F hotter. Absorbing heat energy out of the oceans to charge industrial sized batteries sounds like a novel idea.

Also using machines (with the generated power) to throw water into the air would help cool the atmosphere and the oceans. Perhaps something not requiring power that throws up more water mechanically by way of assistance from waves and wind.

The best thing that could happen for Planet Earth is the eradication of the Human species.

Plain truth .
Common Sense .
Logic .
I admire this man, but will he be able to make the worshippers of Mammon to realize that ?
They aren't directly famous for either one . . .
