New PS5 + Steam Deck OLED - What I think

A lot of slightly updated gaming hardware has recently released. Let's catch up with a look at the new Steam Deck OLED, the PS5 "Slim" and a bit of PlayStation Portal.

The limited edition steam deck with the translucent plastic is so good. We need a resurgence of clear plastic electronics

If you would have asked me 2 years ago, I would have said both Steam Deck and PlayStation Portal were a waste of money. Now I'm a dad, I can see why these things are so popular. After a long day, this kids in bed, the wife is watching her TV show, I can sit next to her and play whatever I want and still be in her company.

Bed Steam Deck Quad-Chin is real! Every once in a while the lighting is just right and you catch a glimpse of your reflection at the most flattering angle possible.

Just upgraded from Base PS4 to PS5 Slim and I couldn’t be happier! I played Cyberpunk on release and holy hell what a difference

Jake! Limited Edition of the OLED Deck is still in stock as of writing this comment. Seems Valve dropped it in waves and have a ton in the stockpile. Go for it!

This Portal is fun. I get tired of falling asleep in my bed, my phone is too small, I won’t use a tablet enough & it’s not fun to be in bed with a whole laptop.

I appreciate you talking about these things without being a hype man and maintaining some rationality, it's very tiring watching channel after channel acting like these new devices are "must haves" and the older things are now somehow useless

bought myself the oled steam deck. I travel a lot already for work, but having it while im visitng family ove the holidays is what made me buy it now

As much as I want a OLED steam deck, I may have to settle for the LCD model just to get that experience of playing my steam library on the go so i may pick one up over black friday if I have some money left over. Like you I'm surprised with how well the PS Portal is dong I didn't think many would buy into it but then again remote play is a dope feature.

I got the Portal yesterday and it's better than I expected. I work from home. 10 hour days, in the evening, with nothing to do and my PS5 a floor away. I've streamed from my phone (Galaxy S21), my tablet (Galaxy tab s9 Ultra), and an Odin Pro, and this is a significantly better experience. If you're someone who streams your PS5, then I'd highly recommend it.

I think of your kids or other half are watching TV and they want you in the room with them the PS portal would be great. That would be my reason to get it anyway.

Honestly kinda tempted to get the Portal just to be able to play my PS5 in bed. I could connect the controller to my iPad etc but a dedicated device is just easier.
