He keeps saying the S9 exposes BETTER, when in fact it exposes MORE and actually over-exposes in pretty much any photo...in good light you can't see details in clouds/white backgrounds and in lowlight shots all lights have too much glow...Pixel 2 still easily better (and I have a Samsung)

Too much light and too bright in the Galaxy phone. The pixel phone has just enough. Not too much. Still good cameras.

Pixel 2 are the best, photos are not overexposed and you don't lose details.

Lol... these fans in the comments. As someone who is neither Samsung nor Google fan, none of them is a clear winner. Some photos looked better on Galaxy S9 and some on Pixel 2. Don't blind yourself just because you are a fan.

I agree with most of people: the galaxy S9 over-exposes practically all shots while the Pixel 2 XL maintains details in both shadows and highlights. Let's see what they do with the Pixel 3!

I'd go with the Pixel because it's easier to bring the shadows up than the highlights down in post.

it looks like the s9 has a better quality picture (sharpness), but the pixel's colors just make it look good. If Samsung used Google's machine learning techniques, their camera would be a god.

S9 makes the pictures Pop out...
The pics look eye catching...like Instagram or Magazine pics...
Pixel 2XL makes picture look realistic (if not striking)....
I think it boils down to those who prefer punchy pics would go for S9
and those who go for realistic (sometimes dully) colours without much post processing would take Pixel 2XL

for me at 4:09 when comparing the bricks, you caption the bricks have more detail, but to me the pixel looks blurry, and the s9 looks more sharp. is that preference or something i'm actually seeing? most of the pixel2 shots looks more blurry to me. unless it's always doing portrait mode and blurring the background, which is where i see the difference in most of the photos overall. but for things that are meant to be portrait mode, i like the pixel 2 blur as it makes the subject pop more. i want the pixel2 for the better android experience, but i tend to like the s9 (and family) pictures a little more. :/

Well Pixel 2 XL is kind of like done a great. Most of the picture taken by pixel 2 XL are decent one compare to the samsung galaxy S9 because S9 really mess up with a light compare to the detailed photo.

Galaxy s9 maybe but I like the selfie mode on pixel xl but I seen some. Great pictures from pixel xl that left me wanting it

Somebody please show me that Pixel 2 XL is having more details. In the opening few shots the S9 had lot more crisp details.

pixel xl is the ak47 of the mobile don't need to set up a lot of things or compensate according to the situation, just put it out and done and best as well
