Laptop liquid damage repair, most common fault? HP 14s-dq1008na water damage

Great video, saved my PC from the scrap heap. The initial issue arose from a water spill on the keyboard. The symptom was an error code of 3 long and 2 short flashes on the Caps Lock key. Using your alcohol (91%) and toothbrush technique, I scrubbed the solder traces on the SSD, RAM, and several other areas (not sure what their function is). I also removed the RAM boards and wiped off the contacts both on the chip and in the sockets. Powered up and it worked! Although with the naked eye there were no bridges, there must have been some subtle fouling of either the solder traces or contact points. Thanks for sharing your expertise.

I swear I had spilled wine from underneath and it wasn't turning on. I did this exact thing and cleaned the circuit panel and operated pins with a toothbrush and alcohol. Then blow dried it and it fired up and charged. I used to make circuit panels and do the soldering/gold plating so I was familiar with it somewhat. Thank you so much 🙏

Thank you so much for this. I spilled some juice on my laptop and I was so upset thinking I would have to pay stupid money to repair it or buy another one but, thanks to this video I was able to quickly unscrew the back and wipe up the liquid and it's good to go again. 🎉

Maybe the sio pins that got the water may have been some of the keyboard connections.
That could short circuit the keyboard and power button if it was part of the keyboard.
