so far the best treatment for fireant bites i have found is Turmeric. i get bit by fire ants almost every year, i have had severe reactions, pain and itching for up to 3 weeks. i always try different plant medicines and the ant bites i am recovering from right now i managed to heal in 4 days. granted it was only about 8-10 bites. i made a mixture of chopped aloe leaves, kalanchoe pinata leaves, turmeric and tea tree oil and applied it on the bites under a tied cloth bandage. this helped, but what i think was the most effective was the turmeric. the ant bites itch when they are inflamed, so to battle inflammation = 2oz of grapefruit juice mixed with a full teaspoon of turmeric every 3-6 hours, large dose 2-3 teaspoons helped greatly, i could just feel it working. overall i took about 2 ounces of turmeric. doctors never recommend remedies like this, probably why they're called "practicing doctors" and not healers...

Important first step, wash and rinse the bite with soap and water first! Pat and dry! That will be half the battle.
