2 NEW YORK POLICE OFFICERS GUNNED DOWN IN HARLEM – 1 KILLED

HARLEM – NEW YORK – FRIDAY JAN. 21, 2022 - A New York Police officer was shot and killed and another critically wounded Friday when a gunman opened fire on them inside a Harlem apartment. The officers were shot while responding to a domestic violence call. The NYPD identified the slain cop as 22-year-old officer Jason Rivera. The cop who was critically injured was identified as 27-year-old Wilbert Mora. The two, and a third officer, were responding to a 911 call about a woman having a dispute with her son at 6:15 p.m. at the apartment located at 119 W. 135th street, according to police. When the cops arrived, the woman and one son were at the front of the apartment. The two officers were shot at without warning when they went down a narrow hallway to the rear bedroom where the suspect was, police said.
