Don't understand the negative comments on this video. I think it is very well done. Was clear at a good pace and showed me the different tools for coloring in DaVinci Resolve. I have videos I've paid for on DaVinci resolve but find this one more effective because it is at an appropriate speed for a beginner and works one step at a time. Thanks for this video!

Thank you so much for this tutorial!  You have literally saved my film from looking like it was shot on a camcorder (instead of raw).  I am filming on the Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera, and up until this point I had no clue how to do this properly.  My biggest problem was I didn't know where to find the settings to change to BMD film (the part you show just before two minutes in), so I could never do much in terms of correction.  Every step here was useful and easy to follow.  Thanks again!

This may work for showing the basics of resolve, but I am not into these colors or that skin tone track.

I haven`t even heard about special grading software. I think Adobe AE wouldn`t be so comprehensive in this aspect

Great tutorial! I have a quick question: How do you manually override the tracking of the mask or get the mask to turn off at some point in the shot? For example, in your shot, if the girl turned he head round how would you get the mask to switch off at that point?

I´m having a problem with the color grade. just in the beginning, when you set the raw (camera icon) i have do the same that you in the video, but when i switch the color space in "BMD film" the image became in black...
I´m working in Resolve 12 and i have do my film with BMCC 2, 5k.
I´m thinking that the problem may be my mac, that is not enough powerfull.. what do you think?

Hi, first of all thank you a lot for your tutorial !! But I've a problem... I can't change my "camera raw settings" to put my gamma to "REDlog Film" to apply a LUT. How could I access to this function ? Thanks. Julien.

do you think that converting some game footage i got to a log style look would kinda do the same trick as you did with the camera b and d flatening of your image? im trying to get a certain look for my video game capturing and want to play with the colors but preserve details

Hey! I have a question regarding the software interface. When you click the color tab at the bottom, and you go to the color page, your preview screen which contains the video is a lot bigger than mine. I dont know how to make it bigger and have it cover a greater portion of my screen so that I can see the outcome a lot better. Thanks!

why do you have to make each individual cool change on a different "serial node"? (i think thats what you said) Also is Resolve relatively easy to pick up? Im considering buying a Blackmagic but i am unfamiliar with working with RAW footage. Is it a very difficult transition to make?
