It was fun finding the max defense, I didn't expect the defense to increase to this much, 920 is just crazy. I wouldn't even need it to be a nearly that high if it wasn't for Calamity's defense damage mechanic. That's the real counter to tanking really. I think we would've been able to stop at maybe 400-500 defense and tank everything easily, if it wasn't for the defense damage mechanic. But oh well. It's a balanced mechanic though, if it wasn't for it, we'd be able to just AFK our way against every boss. It's the reason why we can tank nameless deity/xeroc and Noxus, for some reason they don't inflict defense damage. JJJreact

I should mention, there was a lot of life regeneration involved with this build, and same with Damage Reduction. (About 35% Damage reduction), the life regeneration was very tricky to count, but it was super hard to count, you can see it regenerate in the video xD.

I was going to make a max damage reduction video instead, but Calamity doesn't add up Damage Reduction normally. It gives diminishing returns. For example, if you have 45% damage reduction, and you equip another item that grants 10% extra damage reduction, your damage reduction will increase to 48%, instead 55%. It's understandable, but really underwhelming. I was hoping to achieve like 95% Damage Reduction, but no.

You can AFK Farm every boss in Calamity with this loadout, I tested it against Scal/Supreme Calamitas, Devourer of Gods/DoG, Even Infernum Devourer of Gods/DoG. Works against the Exo Mechs/Draedon. Same with Yharon, this also works against Noxus, the entropic god. Also works against Nameless Deity/Xeroc.

I love how Calamity doesn't make the tank build impossible; you just have to do a lot of research to make it work.

In a more realistic scenario, you can't acquire this much debuffs consistently without outright cheating. It would be in a similar vein to just get more accessory slots than normal. I will count withering and aflame as permanently inflictable debuffs, since you can self-inflict them both.
The loadout would look like this:
Demonshade armor (+150 defence)
Full warding (+7% damage reduction, +70 defence)
Draedon's heart (+48 defence, halved defence damage)
Yharim's gift (+30 defence)
Purity (+36 defence with the 2 debuffs inflicted)
Infected jewel (+29 defence with the 2 debuffs inflicted)
The sponge (+30 defence, +10% damage reduction while shield is active. Shield itself can be a 180 damage reducer with a hefty cooldown)
Dark sun ring (+20 defence)
Aquatic emblem (+50 defence when long enough underwater)

For extra survivability, we can have these artifacts on vanity slots to switch into:
Blood pact, whenever the player wants to use a potion
The absorber, for extra 5% damage reduction after drinking a potion
Nebulous core, to tank an extra hit and revive
Any dodge accessory, to tank an extra hit

Minions:
Wulfrum drones. We can get 15 summon slots, for a total of 45 defence added

If we are in multiplayer, we can have another player with affliction giving us another 13 defence and 10% DR
Accessories that could potentially be good, but didn't make it. Considering above setup's situational-ness, you could switch into these into a more playthrough-viable setup
Profaned soul crystal (Doesn't actually grant defence, but it gives 150 shield with a 5 second cooldown)
Asgardian aegis
Rampart of deities
The absorber
Shattered community

Lastly, i'll include some extras with catalyst and infernum mode items
Cherished sealocket - A 66% damage reduction shield, that dissipates after 2 hits. The hits must deal at least 130 damage to the character to damage it. Good synergy with sponge and soul crystal, because those don't count as your hp. You could tank infernium bosses with a setup like that and not even lose adrenaline.
Brimstone cresent staff - You deal and take 50% less damage, for 3 hits. Has a cooldown depending on situation, but will save you health regardless
Auric+ melee set - Isn't as good for the summon slots, but the raw capability of the set itself very much rivals that of demonshade's. It also has a higher base armor stat, but you'll obviously lose out on wulfrum minions. It means you can focus yourself more on using an actual weapon, though
Egg sword - You can right click with this to encase yourself in an egg shell. It will add +100 defence for 3 hits, but will halve your damage. Unfortunately, this shield dissapears if you stop holding the weapon, which used to not be a thing prior to a certain point, so this is quite a nerf.

My initial setup grants a total of 508 defence at base. Adding buffs, like Ironskin, Moonshine, Crimson effigy, aegis fruit, and bast defence, will grant a total of 549 defence. I will not be including dryad's blessing. Resilient candle will boost that to 625, 6 defence. A lot less than the 920 you've showed.
You will also get halved defence damage, and a bunch of damage reduction i'm not willing to calculate
