What about a loan from your 501c3 to your business at fair market rates and you holds rental properties outside and payback the loan to the 501c3? This way you get the tax advantages on your high income while keeping the assets for most its life and the 501c3 gets the loan interest as income for running the 501c3?

What if I were to create a 501(c)(3), Genuine crypto currency charitable venture, and it has a 5% marketing budget built into its internal taxes, and I start an LLC to handle marketing, i.e. sourcing billboards etc. Am I legally allowed to pay myself a regular (non lavish) salary through the marketing firm, for the time I spend working? And also, if I am using my own office space, is it OK to claim the space? I dont want to be reaching, but i mean, it would be cheaper on the budget for me to claim a small amount vs renting an alternative office space. Facilities aren't free.

isn't family involvement a conflict? Does the IRS allow family/spouses to either be on payroll or the Board? If the founder is the sole employee of the 501c3, salary decisions are required to be made and justified by the other non-related members of the Board right? If so, & with the transparency & scrutiny of the 990, compensation & other benefits (retirement, etc) seem almost punitive compared to a for profit where higher earnings are not regulated and can then result in even bigger retirement contributions/tax deductions. I may be way off here. I am quite literally in the process of deciding whether my consulting business should be an LLC (perhaps a B corp...even if that is more of a branding thing) versus finding the required board members, and going through all the hoops of 501c3. I love your channel! Ty for providing this resource.
