FEW EDITS: 1 - Grendel STILL has lower shields with catalyzing shields, apologies for that oversight. But Koumei is a close 2nd

Just gamble better. Why aren't you rolling triple sixes consistently? Just don't roll terrible decrees. This is all very simple.

Anyone can make koumei look good when the kullervo on your team gets 0% dmg dealt in your level cap.

I think giving two options for decrees and giving a hold cast to her 4 that pulls strung enemies to her as a combo for her 1 would massively improve her

16:15 nice hide for getting obliterated in a 21 minute survival to a mere level 180 acolyte which is usually 1 shot. Also level cap is usually used to test warframes to their limits, but it isn't really fair in Koumei's case as she can stack every decree at level cap so it's almost like she was designed for level cap endurance runs. It's like saying, look the one thing she can do, she does amazing, then ignoring the 95% of things she can't do. Try running her in a steel path extermination mission with a competent team, I guarantee you barely use her abilities as everything is dead before you even complete a decree.

Any frame can do frame things. Because this is warframe, and the game is easy.

But her 1 and her 4 counteract each other, her 2's timer is absolutely absurd after your first few decrees, and who knows if you're even gonna get a decree that you want or that even improves your play style. And her 3 is just so inconsistent that it's just not even worth caring about
And mods barely change her stats.

Yes she can do good weapon platform things in endurance, but it takes a FAT minute to get there, and even longer if you're just not lucky, or playing in a group.

Where every other frame minus a few like nidus comes out of that mysterious ceiling vent full stocked up and ready to go, kou has to take time to even get close to what other weapon platforms can do.

And not enough people really go long enough in endurance missions, so many people are just going to primarily play an incompleted frame. So it's not at all a shock that people don't like her, but compared to yareli on launch, people really want to like her.

If they decide to leave her as is, she's going to be an augment baby. I enjoy how she looks (minus her color mapping) so I'm willing to continue playing her during mundane tasks. For now

Still doesn't change the fact they intentionally made her an early game frame.. despite her kit being made with the intent of her being an endurance frame.. as well as priming being almost useless for new players who dont have any form of CO/priming not being needed in general..

I'll preface what I'm about to say I'm about to say with this.. I like Koumei, I've had quite a bit of fun playing her. That being said, the reward should match effort. Koumei requires you to take full advantage of the aresenal, movement, and mechanics of the game. To what reward? Lots of status and taking advantage of CO mods? It feels like a lot of work needs to done just to get where other frames get for free. The fun of her decrees is lost because 80% of missions in my day to day are finished in under 10 minutes and are constant press forward to the next objective.

I have a lot of fun with her and really enjoy the idea of her breaking the mold on Warframe builds. I also can't say that a pass to tighten her up isn't needed.

I understand that this is a video about how koumei is supposed to function but a bug that prevents me from using all my weapons is pretty horrible for a weapons platform frame

Having a choise between 2 Decrees, or maybe getting to reroll a Decree choice every, oh I don't know, 3 or 5 times you use the ability would be a great change.

0:28 No. Koumei is a poorly designed warframe with low performance relative to others serving the same function. She is, as these things go, very fun to play for some people. Personally I have been playing her since she released, but keep having friction that ruins my gameflow.

0:45 Not quite. Magnetic, Corrosive and Viral are enemy dependent. Radiation has no direct effect on the damage against an enemy.

0:57 Not quite. Its actually better than that on a technical level, because it even works on weapons that normally have a low status chance. On a practical level however, it is much worse. That is because status priming requires high speed and a large area; that's why it's typically done with the Epitath, Nukor, Glaxion, Panzer, Hound, Diriga. If, as you later suggest, you use a launcher weapon, your rate of fire is likely too low to properly prime enemies.

1:10 The issue with this line of reasoning is that there is no reason to do this. Most people generally only use a single weapon, often for the simple reason that switching weapons is bothersome. Your priming and damage is usually split between either your Primary/Secondary and Melee, or your Pet and your Primary/Secondary/Melee.

1:18 Completely incorrect for the aforementioned reasons. With how many tools we have, there likely is not a single weapon + warframe combination that you cannot use as long as you are willing to do the necessary work with the rest of your loadout.

1:19 Non-CO weapons get benefits ... such as?

1:45 Information missing: it's not three sixes but rather *at least* three sixes. Normally the chance of rolling at least three sixes on five six-sided dice is about 3.55%, but Koumei is confirmed to have loaded dice that provide a higher chance, estimated to be about 10-12%.

1:56 The bigger problem, from my experience, is that the ability can miss. The wires appear with a certain distance to one another, albeit with some give and take. Additionally of course, there is the issue that, while enemies can be affected by moving through the wires, her 4 is a hard CC that prevents this from occuring. This is an anti-synergy, and thus blatantly bad design. Strangely, the ability also does not have the usual ragdoll protection that many other abilities have, so it can proc thousands of times on ragdolled enemies; likely an oversight.

2:08 There are issues with spamming the ability though. There is a limit to how many threats can be spawned in total, so not only will repeated casting delete older threats, having high range can even cause conflict between two casts. The other issue is that Koumei has no native energy generation, and the ability is still not cheap at 25 energy. The latter issues is compounded if you want to use Shield Gating.

2:24 Ordinairily it will still only benefit of a single one. You can't rely on winning in a game of chance.

2:46 Saryn is more than that. I think that distinction is important: while you can use her for crazy gun shenanigans, her ability kit still works if you use it as a self-contained unit.

2:54 Arguably not. I don't think her playstyle is actually that different from Oberon; but more importantl is that Koumei doesn't have an entirely fixed playstyle. Because of how randomized she is ... well you get the idea: her playstyle is being random.

3:14 I disagree. I think Wisp has a number of very fun and interesting ways to be played; mainly because each of her abilities has multiple use cases.

3:26 Incorrect. Her critical bonus functions identical to mods. A non-crit weapon will still remain a non-crit weapon.

3:44 Not meta like Kullervo? Have you seen what Haste Mote + Shock Motes + Breach Surge + Melee Influence can do? Just becaues it doesn't have "use melee" written on it? I've seen it on YouTube, is that enough to make it count as "meta"?

3:58 Incorrect. There is a difference between elemental damage and elemental status. Elemental damage mods are still the single best damage multiplier you can apply to your weapon outside of playing Mirage (unless you are using a slash status damage build).

4:11 Read the text you put on the screen before insulting people. "repetitive task for 2 minutes", "tedious and fiddly", "tileset dependent", "lets me use the whole parkour system" (this one is actually a positive sentiment!), and "overly challenging *with low rewards*". This isn't people crying "wuuhh too difficult", the issues is the challenges are lopsided, annoying and boring.

4:13 You arguably *have to* slot in for casting speed (note that Archon Shards aren't exactly new-player-friendly or low investment).

4:17 Koumei isn't even really *a* weapons platform, much less *the* weapons platform. Mirage, Rhino, Gauss and Wisp are far more appropriate picks for that sentiment. Koumei is a build randomizer, as later basically alluded to in the section on degrees.

4:24 Her ramp-up is largely independent of how you build or play her beyond actually managing to do the challenges. I personally haven't had any issues getting them done while running an empty loadout (whoopsydaisies).

4:27 Koumei is probably the least casual-friendly warframe in the roster. Do you expect the average player to know how to wall-latch, get finishers through ragdolls and use Condition Overload?

4:34 "Cool synergies", huh? Now if only Koumei had any. "Your abilities can't be modded so you might as well equip parkour mods" barely counts and "there's a chance that your abilities might allow you to progress your elemental challenge" does not.

5:24 Everything regarding shield-gating is correct here; it's just that that isn't exactly a standalone feature of Koumei.

5:34 It isn't good though. If we ignore the damage for being low and the tripple-six bonus, what we are left with is an ability that has a chance of applying a random status effect. It's better than Spectral Scream, sure, but how do you qualify it as "good"? We have about 210 abilities in the game, and I struggle to find more than half a dozen that are worse.

5:52 A bit unclear so I'll spell it out again: it isn't elemental based kills in the sense that you would have to kill enemies using a certain damage type. You have to kill enemies *generally* while they are *currently affected* by a specific damage type. And the ability far from guarantees that, rather there is a 10% chance that an enemy is going to have the status effect on them *if* your ability manages to hit them.

6:41 It isn't just that it is unreliable. More importantly, Koumei doesn't have the health and armor values necessary to take the gamble. In addition, there's the issues that "gambling isn't fun, winning is" - in other words a 50% chance of dying is too high. To compare: Xaku has a 75% chance to ignore an attack, and that is with no cooldown.

6:46 It absolutely is not. For one, a good Revenant will have about 15 charges if not more, while Koumei can get at most 30 seconds. Additionally, Koumei's ability will run its duration and run out regardless of what happens or what you do - meanwhile Revenant will only lose a charge if he is hit.

7:26 You are ommiting the second, possibly much larger issue! There is a 10, 27% chance (about the same as tripple-sixes) of getting a penalty that lasts until you complete the challenge. You can be afflicted with a permanent Heat, Electricity, Toxin or Cold proc or have your energy drained.

7:32 "quote un-quote" is incredibly disingenious and dismissive. 4 out of 45 are downright bad, and also don't forget that degrees have multiple ranks. Many of them are incredibly situational and might work poorly not just with your loadout, but also with one another. There's probably only a 1 in 3 chance that you will get a degree that you actually like, if not less.

7:48 You entire arsenal? No. Your entire loadout. You are far from being able to use any weapon in your arsenal, because you have to adjust every single piece of your gear to be able to complete the challenges *and* benefit from the degrees. Using Koumei well is arguably more restrictive than any other warframe in this sense.

8:20 Using these utility mods is indeed beneficial. However: there is nothing aside from the Scourge and a handful of Incarnon weapons that can make headshots easier (Helminth abilities not-withstanding), and it can be quite tricky on some enemy types. Additionally: you later state to remain mobile when talking about shield recharge - this is incongruent with wall-latch kills. You cannot be mobile and stationary at the same time.

9:15 The ability also animates enemies in a puppet-like motion, notably making headshots against them more difficult.

9:30 "short" as a timeframe is relative to the surrounding context. You might argue that it's "just" 3 seconds, but this is a crowd-control ability in a fast-paced action shooter. I lost count of the number of times this cooldown, which is completely unnecessary I should add, has gotten in my way. There is also the rather substantial casting duration; which not only further threatens its usefulness as a CC skill, but compounds the issue of it having a cooldown even more by restricting your ability to think/work ahead.

10:36 "completely dismissing the fact that Baruuk is an entirely different character by design" - this is irrelevant. The core of both characters is the same. Even with only 2 out of 4 abilities overlapping, having higher requirements for less returns is simply bad. It's a rather straight forward comparison. This is a problem faced by virtually all character-based games, and ignoring or denying it is not healthy for the discussion.

My final opinion. Is she fun and good? Yes, yes she is

Is her 3rd ability almost useless? Yes, It is too
Would her 2 be more enjoyable for shorter missions with just a few tweaks? Yes It would.

So koumei is fun and good, but she has so much potential to be much better really easily

I wish people would just say that they like her and that she's fun instead of having to defend it. Fun never equates to good or bad and in Warframe's case, it's usually the playstyle, aesthetic, or results the build gives that determine a person's feelings towards it. Alluding to skill issue is super disingenuous considering shes just a weapons platform and in some cases where decrees disable builds (Envious economy/Proficient fighter crippling shield gating and Smouldering Strike breaking influence unless its blast/electric)

Here are these Bad Decrees that you can get:
Swooping Miasma: Gain +3 jumps. Jump Kicks cause 300 DmgViralSmall64 Viral Damage and status in an area around hit enemies.

Kexat's Pounce: Jump higher. Gain +60%/120%/180% damage while airborne. Effect wears off 2s after landing

Temporal Acceleration: Casting Abilities boosts movement speed by +50/100/150% for 5 seconds.

Stable Stance: Gains 25% resistance to knockdown for each enemy within 20m.

And since many of them are scaling, you can get the full 180s cool down without a single Decrees that helps you at all in the mission.

And that's BEFORE counting specific decrees that don't synergise with your builds at the moment.
