In this tutorial I'll show you how to use the free open-source, multiplatform and cloudless file-sharing program, SyncThing, to seamlessly transfer your retro gaming goodness from device to device, so you can easily game on the go!

In this video, we will cover the following:

1) Installing SyncThing on a Windows PC and Anbernic RG552 Android gaming handheld.

2) Setting up folders and sync settings for our saves, savestates and rom collection in Windows.

3) Setting up folders and sync settings for our saves, savestates and rom collection in Android.

It's nice today we have options for syncing across platforms, not only limited to specific OS or cloud products from big companies. Thanks to brought this topic to gamers audience, so they are aware of this options.

Great vid! Not sure whats wrong on my end but my saves/states aren't transferring from my phone that I've been playing on to my PC that I want to play on.
Same cores, same roms, everythings up to date, followed the steps perfectly.

Any idea between pc/anbernic and a modded wii? Copy/paste on the sd card in wii doesn't work! They are not recognised on wii

Would this be possible while using an emulation frontend like Launchbox on both pc and android?

Can you use something like Google Drive or Dropbox for this?

Hey there my RetroArch Guru. Another good video. I have a question for you not related to your video. I am using a core called "pocketcdg_libretro" that does old karaoke cd+mp3 files. I am able to get them to work well in both PC & android, but I can't find a way to scrape any type of artwork. Any ideas? (BTW, current pocketcdg_libretro core isn't working, having to use cores from a yr or so back as RA is aware of current core not working)

Hey, i seem to be having an issue where my saves file from the phone will overwrite any saves from the computer back to where the phone was, is there a way to make the most recent changed file the one that stays?

Would this be as accessible as something like the cloud based save syncing that EmuDeck now has built into its platform. Allowing you to choose Dropbox, Google Drive, etc as a storage space that can then be accessed by other EmuDeck devices such as a Windows Desktop etc? Looking for an option that RetroArch, Dolphin, etc can access across Windows and Android that swaps out the most recent version of the save file seamlessly. Or is SyncThing still the best option? Presuming both devices have to be on the same network and turned on to do this.

Hey man thanks for your elegant solution. So guys I'm using the same core mGBA (for gameboy advance) on both pc and android. but for some reasons the follwoing is happening: Save file only goes from android to pc not the other way around. and states are fine when I save on android and want to load on pc, but again not the other way around. I check it the files are synced from pc to android, but the android version just wont read them. when I load the same state I saved on pc on my android, it just doesn't do anything. any one have any solution?
Thanks in advanced.
