I remember watching that English gentleman's documentary in the women's max security prison. One woman kept acting "crazy" and threatening guards and stuff to be sent to solitary. It was because she didn't WANT to be in gen pop around the other women.
I imagine that happens a lot too. People just can't deal with others or are fearful and send themselves

One of Russian activists was sentenced to 2 years in prison and there she was sent to solitary for asking for blankets for the inmates cause it was a really cold winter. They saw it as an act of rebellion 👌🏻

I’m not a fighter, or at least didn’t think I was, but when I was in a residential facility for three months for my mental health (didn’t help by the way, pretty much the same design as prison when it comes to dorm and food situations and such) and I got in three fights. It doesn’t matter how much of a pacifist you are, anyone can be pushed past their limits

My ex went to solitary in the middle of the night because his cellie complained about him snoring. This was shortly after they introduced two in one cell here. He does snore pretty bad but he has sleep apnea. 🙄 Soon after he did get a cell for himself so that was good lol.

Also to add to the reasons people fight, over crowding. Unless you're in solitary you probably have at least one other person in your space, and don't have any time to yourself.

I got sent to solitary for arguing with the nurse about not giving me my legal meds saying they don't give that type at this place when they were giving it to my celly! Wtf so why not me?! She was mad I found out and labeled me level 3 inmate. So I went from 160 pounds to 120 and no sleep for 21 days. All cuz of some weed.

Here's a question:
I have diabetes which means i have to prick myself and inject myself multiple times in a day. What would a person like me do in jail? We really do need proper nutrition or else we could end up in a coma in just a few days and we also need to have our medications and medical devices near us to use as soon as we need them or else we could, once again, end up in a coma. Are those things allowed or even provided to inmates? And if they are provided, do other inmates steal them/break them or is there some way of monitoring the situation?

When I was pregnant, I would trade every bit of my goodies that we got in our dinner for ppls fruit n veg because you did not get enough at all. Everybody was so constipated!

Carly Greg who is just 15 was just sentest to solitary confinement (LIFE ) w/o parole..for kiing her mom abd attwmpted murder of just a kid who obviously had severe mental misdiagnosis . She will die in that state. She needs rehabilitation (mental health help, and have at the very least life w the chance of parole. This was sad....there were 3 victims...the mom, the stpdad, and even Carly a juvenile who's brain wasn't completely formed ...teens are highly emotional. This broke my heart foe the family.

I work at a county jail in a tiny town, and the company that supplies our food is soooo bad 😭 like, I love my job, I love working with the inmates, but even our head jailer is pissed at this place but it’s the only place near us that will do it 😭😭😭 I feel bad for our inmates

If I ate that food, I’d be swinging too
