Islam isn't just the fastest-growing religion in the world, it's also the fastest-growing faith in U.S. prisons. But why do so many inmates turn to this religion?

10 to 15% of U.S. prisoners are Muslim, and many of them had to fight to practice their faith behind bars. So how different is observing Islam while incarcerated? And what happens to their faith when new converts are released?

Malcolm X was right.. Islam does solve the race problem. I am a white Muslim revert and it makes me happy to be a brother to Muslims from all over the world. It is a humbling experience. I feel protected like the brother said in the video.

As-salāmu ʿalaykum, I reverted to Islam in 2017 before I got married. Came back to United States. Made a wrong choice in life. Never been in trouble in my life. Went to prison. Got closer to Allah by studying Islam by reading the entire Quran twice from front to back while I was away in prison. Meet a few heart warming Muslim brother's in prison. When I was released in 2018 I continued my faith as a Muslim. I'm still learning to this day alone. I wish to stay on the straight path. I wish that a Iman would teach me to be the best Muslim I can be. It's 2019, I still have nothing since I got out of prison. (No Vehicle, No Home, little money to my name, and most importantly I'm really far away from my wife that I love very much) I struggle to survive but I'm happy I have my faith in Allah and thank Allah everyday. Inshallah, May Allah guide me on the path to be a successful husband to support a family and to be with my wife again. 🙏🏻
