Indeed; excellent video work. I must ask, however: how did you actually measure that space between the sides of the hinge? (The thickness of the metal is usually stated on the hinge package or on the store site for the product.)

Hi there, that's an helpful video! I have an unrelated question, if you had a bottomless box which you wanna add a bottom to with a lid, how would you install a a hinge that can make its way in & out without slamming into the ground?

Do you anything to the ends of the hinge pin to keep it from working its way out of the hinge?

Now that you have cut both ends what holds the pin in place, opening can closing the door the pin inside that hold both halfs of the hinge will work its way loose, won't it?
