Kathleen Kennedy REVEALS Rey Movie Plot and Luke's Return - My Thoughts

Kathleen Kennedy gives her input on Luke Skywalker returning to the Rey sequel continuation movie set 15 years after episode 9 the rise of skywalker, as well as the plot details and premise of the Rey movie.
She will be rebuilding the Jedi Order, while the Jedi are in dissaray.

I can’t imagine Mark Hamill wanting to come back after how he has expressed himself about how they handled Luke which is probably why it’s not definitive but pretty unlikely

I’m genuinely confused as to who thinks ANYONE actually wants this. Even Daisy Ridley herself said she doesn’t really want to play the character anymore and I don’t blame her as she got done pretty dirty. Kathleen Kennedy and Disney are so oblivious to what Star Wars content people actually want it’s almost hilarious.

I wish Kylo Ren had not been killed off, an actual member of the skywalker family continuing Lukes mission would be so much more meaningful to me. Also he actually received training as a jedi

KK is just digging a deeper hole within Star Wars. I just hope they make a plan this time. For all we know the film could get canceled like Rogue Squadron. Guess we will see.

I think that’s the biggest issue with this film..

We haven’t even seen how Luke rebuilt the Jedi Order after ep 6 yet, so why jump ahead to Rey doing it when we’ve been waiting decades to see how Luke did it?

Would’ve loved an animated series, clone wars style, about Luke’s temple and the character within/around it.

When Luke threw anakin’s lightsaber over his shoulder I was absolutely bewildered. It is so incredibly disrespectful and disgusting that they would have Luke throw such a sentimental and important item like that. It was his fathers, given to him by Ben kenobi who he admired, and then used for a little part of his life.

i don’t think it’s talked about enough how invalidated anakins sacrifice was made by the sequels as well, not just luke. and yes i understand it was a big issue for myself and everyone else when ROS came out I just still feel so strongly about it and feel as if many stopped thinking about it.

I’m actually so mad this movie is being made. I was always holding out hope that the sequels would be retconned but this is going to cement them in Star Wars forever

The worst part is that this was originally Lukes story. Rebuilding the jedi temple after the fall of the empire, into something greater than it was before. But now disney has completely shit on Luke and all the amazing stories they could've told about him based on legends and instead will now turn Lukes story into that of Rey. Further spitting on the legacy of star wars

I don't understand why they are continuing down this road. Even if they finally manage to do something good with Rey as character, a lot of fans are going to be apprehensive simply because the movie is about her, knowing how it turned out the last time.
They had a lot of interesting concepts and ideas to make a compelling story and to this day it amazes me how poorly it was handled. Every single character in the sequels truly deserved better.

I think that a far more interesting story would’ve involved Rey dying in episode 9 and Kylo Ren needing to relearn what it means to be a Jedi, while half the galaxy now hates him. It could’ve been a lot more interesting, since it could have shown what would happen if a villain got the second chance that Vader couldn’t.

If Kylo had survived and this was instead an announcement about a Kylo Ren movie I’d be all in. He was the most interesting character the new trilogy had to offer.

I am so conflicted. It seems like Star Wars has been split into 2 different universes. You have the KK universe that few seem to like and then whatever Dave and Jon are trying to do with it. And somehow those 2 sides are supposed to line up. it's hard to get excited for anything they announce because of it.

As a writer, one of the first things I was taught early on was to NEVER kill off a character unless you're absolutely sure, because there's no coming back. Even if he comes back as a force ghost, to the audience, it will feel like they killed him for no reason.

How Kathleen is still in charge with all the negative responses from her every move in regards to this franchise is beyond me. She’s even begun to ruin The Mandalorian, which was by far the best thing they had going for them. It’s like Dave and Jon are following behind her with brooms cleaning up her messes. How to turn a billion dollar franchise into a million dollar franchise featuring Cunthleen Kennedy.

Well, they seem to think that making more movies with Rey is a good idea, so I can’t imagine they’ve learned their lesson about Luke either.
