Ron Swanson: "I once worked with a guy every day for 3 years. Never learned his name. Best friend I ever had."

Pay close attention.

Tie Man is looking at his tie, questioning if it was the right choice but not making a scene.

Gray shirt man notices this, so he compliments the tie to let Tie Man know his tie is cool and was the right choice.

Tie Man responds with a thanks, affirming that Gray Shirt Man did, in fact, help him with his confidence in his tie.

Years later, he will still remember that compliment

I met my bestfriend in kindergarten by saying "that's a cool lego build" and we have been friends for almost ten years

Update: we have now been friends for over ten years and just went to the same school first time after kindergarten and we are planning to rebuild the build I complimented in kindergarten.

Yup. That's very true. My mom worked as a nurse... and they all hated each other. While all the male nurses and attendants were just plain chill.

"Hey, I like your tie."
"Thanks!"

And that's ALL it means for men.
No hidden agendas.
No backhanded compliments.
No passive-aggressive BS.

Me, age 13: Hey that's a cool model train.
Other kid: Thanks.

20 years later, we're still BFFs.

For some reason I pictured the men eating in comfortable silence for like ten minutes before the guy randomly compliments the other on his tie. They both eventually leave after barely any conversation but schedule another outing because they both had a wonderful time lol.

theres two types of friends: theres the two guys at the end of this clip, then theres the guys who jokingly insult each other and talk shit about each other time to time but just laugh at it because none of them mean what they said

As a tie I can confirm this is 120% accurate

This bit never gets old. My wife and I refer to this a lot when she talks about how hard it is to be friends with girls, and she is always jealous of how close me and my friends are. She isn’t bitter about it, and is actually happy for me, she just wishes she had the same thing with her gal friends.

First friend I ever made was in kindergarten. He was next to me on the first day when we we're hanging our coats up so I turned to him and said, "Hey you look cool, wanna be friends?", He replied with, "Sure."
20 years later and we're still talking like brothers, planning on being each others best men for our future weddings.

Men: we know how to be friends.

Men: we don't know what we did.

First best friend I had, we met in kindergarten while fighting over a girl. We ditched the girl and bonded over Pokémon cards. That was 24 years ago.

I met my best friend, my homeboy, my brother, on the first day of middle school. Teacher made us sit in a circle and introduce ourselves. Him and I made eye contact and we laughed at how goofy the group activity was. We are now in our 20s and living life. Even funnier, our entire friend group consist of awkward and weird first interactions. We have all been close since then.

I met my best friend when he was born (he’s my cousin and 2 years younger than me). He had cancer and no one thought he was gonna make it past being a few months old. He was always very somber (if you can imagine that for a baby) and not energetic because of all the treatment and chemicals but my parents told me that whenever I came around, he would always laugh and jump and we’d play together. He did end up living past 1 year. And now 20 years later, I have a lifetime of memories with him that I’ll be grateful for for all of eternity. I just recently met his girlfriend (who he intends to marry sometime in the future) for the first time and it’s really hitting me that we’re already adults now. Thankfully, we still make a bunch of dumb jokes and do childish things and even if life ends up taking him far away from here, I’ll just be glad that he’s happy. Sorry to get so deep on a comment about a family guy joke lmao
