The Untold Story Of Nineveh - From Deliverance To Destruction

We've all heard the story of Nineveh repenting at the preaching of Jonah, but how many have read what ultimately happened to Nineveh when they regressed and sinned against the Lord? Jonah recounts a story of deliverance and mercy, while Nahum gives a prophecy of vengeance and justice. In this study we will aim to evaluate some of the symptoms that lead to such spiritual regressions both nationally and personally. When the gavel finally falls, the sentence is irrevocable. This is the story of deliverance to destruction.

To add to the conversation about why injustice abounds. I am VERY thankful that God didn't destroy me before I had a chance to be saved. The fact that we were not annihilated at the point of our first offense shows that God's mercy is great. All injustice in this world serves a purpose. It perfects the saints as well as punishes the wicked. How many of us would have cried out to God if life was perfect? Though I don't think it's inherently wrong to ever think about why certain evil occurs, getting stuck on always dwelling on why evil abounds will get you nowhere. And in worse case scenarios can cause people to despise God, because they think they know a more loving way (for example, some people despise God because of the passing of a loved one, or because of them being abused as a child) As Joshua pointed out, why evil abounds falls perfectly into the context of Romans 8:28. It covers ALL happenings in the life of a true believer. Also, the fact that God gave us a free will is so incomprehensible I can't put it into words. Because I'm aware of my selfish propensity toward evil, I appreciate my Savior so much more! In a world of billions of free wills, desires are bound to clash as people seek to be their own god. Billions of god wannabees produce much heartache and destruction. This is why we must die to self in order to come to Christ! THERE IS ONLY ROOM FOR ONE GOD, AND THAT IS THE KING OF KINGS AND THE LORD OF LORDS!
