I use this site structure for my multi-location pest control service and it has done well. My local ranking visibility is at 20% across about 17 different cities in northeast ohio compared to my closest competitor who has 8% visibility. Definitely the right way to go

Good luck with this. Googles NLP will know better. I doubt this tactic will last. Using proper structure is fine without the need to keyword stuff. I think what Chris is trying to explain here is pillar pages, and the pillar page process.

Chris you mention on homepage don't use keywords to avoid cannibalisation. How about homepage meta description, should you avoid keywords in there? Many thanks and great video.

great video brother, question: isn’t spammy? i mean it in the sense if it’s a bit overkill/over-optimized.

I’d assume Google would be able to tell what locations to associate with the service just due to the top-level slug, but I could be wrong; it is an algorithm in the end.

Great video but you lost me on something. You said instead of using the Blog page, you said to rename it to your keyword "alimony", then have the articles a level below to support it. But you already have a service page under the same keyword?

You mentioned tying a blog post to a main category page. From what I know, blog structure is its own vs. page structure. Do you man create a page where you embed the blog post that ties into the page structure, or how would you go about this?

Or, are you not using the wordpress blog / post functionality and taking the content to a normal page that looks like a blog so it can sit under the page structure.

If I'm only in one state and want to target the surrounding city's from my GMB address - Could\Should the top service page target the main geo keyword? So if im a roofer in Chicago -should my top service page for 'roof repair' target the KW "roof repair chicago" or just generic 'roof repair' and I should have a separate location page that targets "roof repair chicago" - is it important to leave the main top level services pages generic with no geo targeting or does it really make no difference as long as I have the other surrounding cities on their own location pges?
