Realizing way too late I hit a corporate ceiling and now in a rat race. Work 12 hrs days and told by boss my overtime is a problem, despite being salaried. Selected in a targeted development program at work which resulted in more complex work. Married my work, no family and no time for hobbies or vacation.

It’s sad. Being a minority, I don’t always fit in with the image of a corporate leader for an older Midwestern company, so my ceiling in the corporate world.

On a FIRE path now, planning to start my own businesses now, retire in 3-5 years. Currently in late 30s.

It sucks because I use most of my energy working for someone else and by the time I get home and take care of everyone I only have 2 to 3 hours left to focus on my business. My father and his siblings came from Israel with very little, and did not know any English. They preached to my cousins and I to always work hard, have a good mindset, save money, invest, etc.

You know what I appreciate the most about this video & this channel in general, is the reminder that there are people like your grandparents who came here with all of their grit & were successful. People need to hear that. There is definitely a lot of complacency here in this country, I know personally, I was programmed from a young age some really unhealthy mindsets around money. You are seriously a GEM!!! I now spend time learning about investment opportunities instead of online shopping, I downsized from living in our nation's capital when I didn't need to. I am now setting up a new business, my online viewing has shifted to channels like yours and Robert Kiyosaki and warren buffet. I have made several investments too. The great tragedy is That I "woke" in my mid forties.
