In this tutorial I will show you how to convert stroke and path into a shape in Adobe Illustrator. If you create a shape and you select only the stroke, with the shape selected go to object - path - outline stroke, and then right click on the shape and release compound path, and you have the stroke converted into a shape. The second way is for a path, draw a path with pencil tool, and with the path selected go to object - path - outline stroke and you converted the path into a shape, and if you selected the direct selection tool(A), you can modify the path.
