Simple carbon plate bend test. Difference is in fibre orientation - 0/90 vs +/-45.
Twill, 2mm, 3k
Both pieces sliced from same sheet.

Fun Fact: use a heat gun and you can bend it easier on the 45 degree angle and then it will retain the shape after bent. This damages the resin a bit, but it still works fine for hobby/prototyping purposes.

Unfortunately no. After bending internal structure of resign is damaged/cracked and plate starting to be more and more wobbly.
It's more like freezing wet towel and bending it.

Ok, so i have a question... i am new to carbon fiber, and i am thinking of buying a carbon fiber roll and making a couple of thin carbon fiber sheets, that would be flat, for a project I'm doing, but if i do do that, i would like some information on bending one end of the flat sheet to a certain curvature...

Basically what my idea is, is that I have a bicycle pull behind baby trailer that I received from a friend, and it had originally had a canvas bottom and a set of canvas coverings. Now, if you know anything or can find a picture of what a bicycle baby trailer might look like, you will have some idea what I am thinking of doing. I already have something kind of sort of did up for it but it's ugly and made out of wood and other lighter weight wood materials, and I would like to possibly replace that with a couple of thin sheets of carbon fiber specially cut to fit the sides of the frame, and to also go from the bottom of the back of the frame all the way up and over the top of the frame where it starts to curve downwards again forming a somewhat slight curve at the top.

I have seen videos where this type of thing is possible, but what I see there is usually using things like packing tape to put on to a already made surface that I am trying to get a mold of, but the problem is that I don't have a flat surface that is, or can be, curved without causing wrinkles or other similar stuff to happen which makes me wonder if it's possible or not to do such a thing, or if I would want to make the initial sheet completely flat at the length that I needed, and have some way of as seen here, bending it afterwards, or if there is some way of doing it beforehand that wouldn't require a lot of money or other resources that aren't available to me? I'm just not finding a lot of information on anything besides making either flat projects, or projects that have a flat or curved piece that you can use for the mold, which i don't really have, unless I wanted to stretch it over the frame and screw it down or something like that, which, honestly, doesn't sound very doable, to be honest, without lots of holes in my aluminum frame...

Another question I have is this... would it be possible to somehow connect the back and top of the one piece, to the 2 side pieces? If so, what would be the best way to do it? Just make the 3 pieces separately, then add a couple of layers on the inside on the corners, or perhaps one on the outside, or is there a better way? Can you sand any overlapping upholstery joints flat after a few layers? If you could, that would make it easier... also, what can you use as a filler layer? I've seen mention of something called a "soric core" on a video i eatched, but can't find something called that on Amazon, and unfortunately, Amazon is obviously where I'd be looking for something cheap for my needs.

I'm currently just looking for ideas and any help, even just to stear me in the right direction would be appreciated...

Oh, i have one last question. If i wanted something like, for instance, an LED light strip to put onto the trailer, does carbon fiber allow tape, such as 3m backing tape, to stick, or would i require another method of attaching a strip to carbon fiber?

Can you heat gun carbon fiber to your desired shape?

Be nice to know is this 3K, 6K or 12k? Was the resin different in each? Too many questions here.

How long does it take to be straight again? One day?

Really, two different biases will give you two different moduli of bend performance. Was there a point to this shenanigan?
