For those wondering, the reason why your lives are set to -25 when you reach 1000 coins is because the game was supposed to set your coin count back to 999 (to prevent it from going over it), but it instead sets your *life count* to 999
However, lives are stored on signed bytes, so this 999 just overflows to -25 (999 - 4*256 = -25)

The glitch where Bowser gets SWOOSHED off the stage is so cool imo. I was fascinated when I learned about it nearly 2 decades ago, in a video by SwordlessLink.

The final bug sounds kinda scary for bowser.

this plump dude just threw you at a bomb and before you even touch the ground he grabs you by the tail and starts swinging you, and somehow the next bomb is twice as powerful and you hit the wall of the cavern.

i like how the default for "something unexpected happened during bowser's jump" is "let's just turn his entity off and back on again" (aka reset his position)

I just discovered the last one on my own a couple weeks ago and it made me laugh out loud. I was like “I’m so cool, I regrabbed him while he was still in midair”, then I threw him at the bomb and he just went zooming! It’s goofy lol

that Japanese glitch got printed in so many US strategy guides, so I sat there excited for the negative lives, and collected 1000 coins just to hit a 999 cap, finding out the hard way that the bug was fixed. :( :(
