The 2021 NFL QB Draft Class of Woe

The hype coming into the 2021 NFL Draft was immense, especially at quarterback. Oozing with upside, five different men were seen as the future of the position. One also happened to be a potentially generational talent who was the best prospect since Andrew Luck. Instead of a great success leading their teams to newfound glory, it's become a cautionary tale. Nobody's reached their upside three seasons in, and worse, four of five first rounders have already been traded at a significant loss in value. It's the danger of potential: There are times where it won't be reached. In this case, it happened to nearly every quarterback selected.

This video is in dedication to the lost souls that are those selected in this draft. God help them.

Brock Purdy single-handedly saved the entire 9ers front office and coaching staff. Mistakes like that reset franchises for years

"Draft a QB" they told the Lions in 2021. We took Penei Sewell and stuck with Jared Goff.
Things worked out great.

The fact that davis mills is a top 3 qb from this class speaks volumes

Trey Lance must be insanely grateful for Zach Wilson because he took all the attention away from Lance being arguably one of the biggest busts of all time.

Update: 5 interceptions in one preseason game, 3 first round picks burned in the incinerator 😟

Saying Fields is a social media qb absolutely nailed it. His fans would salivate over his highlights, but outside of those couple plays per game he looked so lost in Chicago.

The fact that Trey Lance is a bigger bust than Zach Wilson shows how bad this QB class was

Urban Meyer's coaching tenure should be considered a war crime.

The difference 2020 qb draft class vs the 2021 qb draft class will have to be studied

Tree, my dude, you're looking like you've lost some weight since last I saw you. Good for you, fam. Keep that shit up.

2020 vs 2021 is so juxtaposed. 2020 will go down as one of the greatest QB drafts of all time
Burrow - resigned by Cincy, Super Bowl appearance, Pro Bowl
Tua Tagovailoa - resigned by Miami, Pro Bowl, Passing Yards Leader
Justin Herbert - resigned by LAC, Pro Bowl
Jordan Love - resigned by Green Bay, won a playoff game in his starting year
Jalen Hurts - resigned by Philadelphia, made a Super Bowl appearance, Pro Bowl

And then 2021
Trevor Lawrence - resigned by Jacksonville, won a playoff game, Pro Bowl
Zach Wilson - traded to Denver
Trey Lance - traded to Dallas
Justin Fields - traded to Pittsburgh
Mac Jones - Pro Bowl, traded to Jacksonville (his rookie year will forever allude us)

_Zach Wilson_ already has more career passing yards than *any* of the QBs drafted in 2007.

The fact that SF traded 3 firsts to get Lance and are still a SB contender without him is pretty crazy

I feel like the class of 2021 is a pretty big indicator that coaching really DOES matter to a QBs development. Urban Meyer nearly permanently ruined Trevor Lawrence’s career and Bill Belicheck DID ruin Mac Jones’s career. Although, Wilson and Lance would have prob stayed trash even with good coaching.

Trey Lance getting the best return from his trade is *hilarious.*
It's good proof that it's "better to remain silent and thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt."

Thanks for actually covering Lance's story properly. I get annoyed when people call him a bust because the fact is he was never given a chance. 4 games that was all, and they weren't really fully games. Shanahan also didn't want him originally and didn't like him. The GM wanted Lance, not him. So once Purdy came around and fit Shanahan system, how he wanted better and was cheap enough to make up for the draft capital loss. Lance was out the door. Any other player would of gotten more time to develop and actually prove their worth. Lance didn't get that and was never given an opportunity to really prove it. He's not a bust.

Also, wtf was San Fran thinking when they drafted him on a team that was built to win now. Should of just traded for a starting QB with that capital.
