I visited the HENRY FORD MUSEUM in October for the second year in a row. I highly recommend visiting if you have never done so. Please allow a minimum of 2 days so you won’t feel rushed. I gave myself 3 days and I’m sure I missed something.

That is technically NOT the car Kennedy was killed in as it appears in the museum. Only the chassis underneath is original, the rest of the car was rebuilt and modified many times over the years.

The vehicle from 1902 is the best.

He actually did ride in just a regular unmodified Lincoln convertible earlier that morning.

In the late 70's I used to help my brother who was into American cars at a guys warehouse full of American cars , the owner went to Spain on holiday came back with short wheelbase Lincoln Continental said the car was a White house protocol car, was told car was in service at the Hawaiian embassy or something like that, the owner wanted to bring his kids up in Europe . It was black and had a thick padded roof small back window looked like it had a very small stretch of about 3 to 4 inches in the B post , was class getting Chauffeur around in it LOL .(UK)

I’d dearly love to see this museum. And I believe they’ve got the Rosa Parks bus there too? Pity I’m in the UK

It's amazing that Teddy Roosevelt would just get out of his 1902 horse drawn limo to shake hands with strangers, considering that his immediate predecessor, William McKinley, was assassinated in 1901. 20 years earlier, James Garfield was shot, and later died due to incompetent medical care. And in 1865, Lincoln was assassinated. Three presidents killed between 1865 and 1901 (inclusive). And yet, TR seemed to act as if there was nothing to worry about. In 1912, he was shot, but survived, while campaigning on a 3rd party "Bull Moose" ticket. He continued to give his speech, saying, "Friends, I shall ask you to be as quiet as possible. I don't know whether you fully understand that I have just been shot; but it takes more than that to kill a Bull Moose"! Contrast this with how the secret service quickly pushed President Reagan in the bullet-proof limousine, and then immediately rushed him off to the hospital, after his nearly successful assassination attempt by John Hinckley in 1981.

When Kennedy was killed in that car it should never been used again. I think it was disrespectful

Actually one of the last Presidential Limousine that preserved in museum is Bill Clinton's 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood Presidential Limousine. You can find the car in William J. Clinton Library and Museum.

Plate 227 100, 2+2+7=11=Nov, 227...22...= Nov 22, 100= X100, the code name of the car. Nov 22 X100...I don't think the plate is an accident.

The car shown as a 1972 looks like a 1976. Wasn’t there a ‘72 or is this the same car converted to look look newer?

Why the fuck would they ever let a president ride in a convertible? I've never understood that.

ok it might not be a Ford, but the dump truck that Donald Trump rode in should be inducted in to a museum.

That's not a 1971 continental.
It's a 1977-1979 continental.
