American's first time driving in the UK! Yes, it was my first time taking on the roads in the United Kingdom haha. It was kind of terrifying, but not really. In this vlog, we visit Loch Ness as well as the Culloden Battlefield. We are of course staying in Inverness, Scotland which is located near all of these spots! I appreciate all of you taking the time to watch this video! We had a great time in the UK and I hope to go back someday. Driving in the UK wasn't too bad and I would have no problem doing it again. Thanks for watching y'all, hope you have a great day :)!

I think you'll find it's the correct way to drive. We have driving on the left-hand side of the road since mediaeval times. Driving on the right is a Napoleon thing that's why the rest of Europe drives on the right to and America copied the We Brits be Damned before we did anything Napoleon told us to do.

Not all cars in the UK are tiny, you just rented about the smallest car possible

When people travelled only on horses, you passed each other on the left to keep your sword arm free so why change something after 1000 years.

1:00 It is not a different side of the car ! The driver is towards the middle of the road and the passenger is towards the curb. It is, however, worth hiring an automatic - you'll have enough strange things to deal with...

Good video. Just for clarification, the Jacobites weren't just fighting against "the English;" they were fighting against the Hanoverians, and a substantial number of the Hanoverian troops at Culloden were Scottish, though most were English.

Fly back? I'd have taken a train. Glasgow-London is about 4:30 hours (Virgin) and Edinburgh-London about 5:00 hours. Gives a nice view of landscapes, no boarding/departure hours and likely a chat with locals on the train.

Jac In Jacobite is pronounced as in the name Jack, not Jake. Culloden is pronounced Cu (as in duh!), llo (as in law), den (as in (din). Emphasis on the second syllable.

The ignorance shown here is mind blowing. 'Cars here are tiny'? You booked that car. Larger cars do exist here you just have to order one. Unbelievable.

I believe the wee town you're in at 4:07 is pronounced Drum nuh draw kit (Drumnadrochit). Also petrol price currently in "my neck of the woods" is 133pence a litre. Glad you enjoyed your visit :P

Another thing that Americans who have driven in the UK have often remarked about is that they felt that the roads were very narrow compared to the US.

Oh man, this is one of the things we fear the most. I've (Nabol) driven in Italy and other parts of Europe but never on the other side of the road. Yes, it's almost always a manual. Kudos to you guys. Lock Ness is on my list for sure. I would also go straight to the battlefield. We skip most museums. Haha

OMG I freaking loved this lol. I’m from Australia, and when we went to Vegas & Canada 😳 it was so weird driving around, but we did it! Ohh man those Definitely was an experience. Just funny to watch as this is our ‘normal’ but not so ‘normal’ for you. You rocked it though 🤟

My daughter and sister-in-law (Americans) rented a car in Scotland for a couple weeks last year. They were scared spitless the entire time. :-)

I would just like to mention that for thousands of years the left side of a road or track was the way to go, it is only in the last couple of hundred years (if that) that people like Napoleon decided to be different and as for America they at least had a good reason as the multi horse wagons there were driven safely on the right for visibility (apparently). But apart from that I like your videos, keep them up :-)

The cars are tiny? No, mine isnt. THAT car is tiny, I could put that in my glove box.

I live in inverness (born and bred) and the way you pronounce some of the names makes me laugh XD You pronounced Urquhart castle so wrong i giggled lol Glad you had a good time! That lil village with the cafe is called Drumnadrochit. I wont go into how to say that haha. Culloden (the battlefield) is pronounced caw-law-den. :p
