Ingredients for Mitarashi Dango
Refined Rice Flour (Shiratamako): 60g
Top-Grade Rice Flour (Joshinko): 40g
Water: 3 tbsp
Soy Sauce: 2 tbsp
Mirin: 2 tbsp
Sugar: 1 tbsp
Potato Starch: 1/2 tbsp
Skewers

It totally does. Mitarashi dango is my go to if I want something sweet since it's also savory. I'm not much for sweets, so mitarashi dango is the perfect snack.

It looks so good! I’ve always known what it was but never really cared about it but this look’s actually amazing and I love that you call it by different names because most people just say mochi I hope I can try it one day!

I don't always have the glutinous rice flour, so I use medium grain rice flour, soak rice for 60 minutes, I drain the water if there still more, then let it dry for a bit, put rice on pan and broil in oven (low at first then high) blend rice to make flour

A little tip, if you don’t want to burn the ends of the sticks you are using put some water or dip them in water before grilling them. That way they won’t burn.

This is one of the easiest Japanese desserts to make at home. For extra flavor, you should try with red bean paste on top of the dango. Or make the dango to throw in a sweet red bean soup for those cold days.
