I found one when I was clamming one time on a sandbar and didn't know what it was and picked it up. It latched right on my hand. When they shoot out that thing really fast and they like drag their teeth through your skin and make a little X like a cut. Not just a little holes like they did when he pressed it on. Well at least that's what happened when the one bit me. Hurt worse than a wasp sting.
