There’s so much wrong with this video.

1. We Bavarians were not reluctant to ˋjoinˋ the German Empire. And we literally formed the German Empire together with Prussia and were very happy to join the defensive war against the French. The Austrians didn’t support the war effort and on top failed all of Germany during the Napoleonic Wars. While Northern Germany had supported Bavaria a lot.
2. Bavarians are closer to Catholic Austrians? Uhm, excuse me? It’s Austria that was created by Bavaria and settled with Bavarians, not the other way around. Austrians are basically just Germans with new-age Austrian exceptionalism ever since the end of ww2 because they didn’t want to pay ww2 reparations 😂.
3. 1/3 Bavarians are not for an independent Bavaria. That’s a number you’ve completely made up from your a**. It’s like 2%. But still, 1/3 would not be a majority. Maybe 1/3 are for even further independent politics from the central government in Berlin. But this is also only because of the new government with lots of woke, left-wing policies (that are seen as ungerman by loads of Bavarians) compared to more conservative and German-nationalist Bavaria. So, the reason for why Bavaria wants more independence is not because Bavarians want to be less German, but ironically because of the opposite 😂. And it’s not due to religion. Bavaria is the still culturally most German region out of all German regions nowadays
4. The other regions you’ve mentioned are in fact not all majority catholic. And neither do they want to be independent…
Bavaria has gotten extremely rich thanks to the rest of Germany.
5. An Independent Bavaria would raise the questions of an independent Franconia and Swabia, which are regions inside of Bavaria. Both of these regions make-up a big chunk of Bavaria without even being Bavarian.

you make it sound like Germany is a religious country 😂 Bavaria is a bit more religious, but since Germany isn't, there's no pushing of Protestantism onto Bavaria anyway. + even if Bavaria was super devout and wanted independence for that reason, Rhineland and BW would not want independence just because they have large Catholic numbers because again, it's not that religious in Germany. they would also have had to have a strong regional identity that supercedes national identity and such, which they don't.
