If Luke livestreamed his gold fish with a piano playing in the background i would legit just sit here and watch them do goldfish stuff.

Hey Luke! I’ve had a ton of planted aquariums(some with ranchus in them) and had a couple tips for you. Amazon swords grow great with ranchus as the ranchus won’t eat them at all. Anubis’s and cryptocorynes work great as well. However you should attach the Anubis’s to some rocks as they will develop a better root system when attached to rocks or driftwood. Also you should probably add some fertilizers in there. Most plants require some sort of fertilizer, aquarium soil, root tabs, co2(although co2 is expensive and a bit overkill. Also don’t know how well the goldfish will take the co2)

I recommend going and watching some aquarium co-op videos on plants, it helped me a lot when I was first starting with plants.

Quicksilver may be the most underrated of Luke's fish. The coloring is stupendous

The goldfish all look so happy at the end! Glad they’re enjoying the new plants

So many people say it can’t be done; after all goldfish eat plants, they dig, they blunder about, they pull up plants, and they like cooler water whereas many aquatic plants are tropical. But goldfish really benefit from having live plants in their tanks, they are just as deserving of a nicely planted set-up as their tropical counterparts.

Goldfish enjoy the sensory experience of playing around with plants, swimming through them, hiding in them and of course snacking on them. It makes a more natural habitat for them and encourages natural behaviours.

Hello Luke, I'm peter. I really appreciate your efforts you make to take care of your goldfish and other cute creatures. I really love your work❤❤❤❤❤❤
I may not have money to appreciate you because I'm just a young boy. But I really wanted to tell you how I felt.

Hey Luke, the plant that you put on the top (not the floater plant) is called water sprite. It is super great for keeping with goldfish because in my experiences it does not require a grow light, it is very strong and when the goldfish eat it, it will grow back very quickly. The only thing I would suggest is that if you plant it, put rocks under it because it searches for its fertilizer (the poop) under rocks and if you have sand the poop will stay on the top and it will not be easy to make it grow.

Hi Luke. As a fish/turtle owner my best experience with plants is to place plants in one section of the tank and leave an open area for them. This way they can hide or swim freely

Hi luke. From my experience, my nuggets messed up almost ALL the plants i put in my tank. Even the really tough ones too fibrous for them to eat. Also, the fibers got stuck in my pumps propeller and it messed it up.
If you are OC about the tank's clarity or hate floating stuff, you might need to do more maintenace.
Liquid fertilizers, co2 diffuser... the list goes on and on.
I even bought porous pots, filled it up with river stones then planted my plant, they still uprooted it.

To keep it short, i removed all my plants after 3mos of trying. I gave up. Now, it's just pothos and lucky bamboo on my sump for nitrates.

The fluffy plant, water sprite, is one of my favorites! I started with two of them, and eventually filled up a 90, 55, 29, and gave away a bucket full on craigslist.

I'm starting a tank which will eventually house goldfish, it's going to have anubias, African water fern, and moss. Plus all the duckweed from my other tanks, lol

you might like the easy planters from aquarium co-op!!! you can easily just put potted plants in there and the roots can grow out of the bottom

Hey Luke! Quick word of advice. I would take those plants out of the baskets in the tanks with substrate. Its kind of a pain to get all the material off of the roots but its well worth it in the long run for the health of the plants. You also might look into getting some aquasoil or even look into capping potting soil with sand and other substrates. Best of luck, its looking great so far! 👍🏻

The best thing to do in the weekend is just, sit, open Youtube, and watch how Luke makes planted tanks for his little goldfish buddies
2:47 I didn't know Venom had a brother. Good to know the little guy isn't alone

Nothing was more of a pleasant surprise than to see this show up today! Really cool to see you branching out into planted tanks. Aquascaping vidoes are the best

A good plant you could use is hornwort! It can be planted or left to float, they have no roots. They might get eaten but they’re easy to grow
