It's odd, but I think losing the Paris 1500m has really motivated Jakob to show the world just how good he really can be. Impressive!!

Annihilated an almost 28 year world record by over 3 seconds, insane.

Jakob is not only a legend, but also being truly honest when it comes to running. He did not find excuses, he lost in Paris, and he admitted he was outsmarted. And then he fought back with THREE straight wins (5000m gold, and 2 diamond league wins). When we fans see his reaction after crossing the fininsh line, it tells you how he amazingly performed. And what brings more gold to the moment is, I think the guy hugging Jakob is Macin Lewandoski, the Polish middle distance legend. What a memorable night in Silesia

The Ethiopian ran the third fastest time in history. And he was still 3.5 seconds behind Ingebrigtsen. This is legendary stuff from the Norseman.

I really believe this guy has sub-12:30 for the 5000m in his legs, especially only being 23. Can't wait to see his eventual rise to the 5000m! So incredible!

Incredible. I still have, and now have more faith that he can break the legendary 1500m and 1 mile run WR

There’s something about Jakob’s highs and lows (getting gold and getting upset) at world finals that I think drives his consistency. Hocker had a rough showing in his first race after Gold. Fisher had a rough showing in this race. But Jakob never seems to have that post-glory “hangover”. He always shows up. Every time he toes the line, he’s trying to prove his greatness to himself.

Its time for him to break the world records of Joshua Cheptegi its time he is still young, incredible shape, and more importantly mentally strong. East African dominance is slowly slipping away and towards another country. I hope Daniel Komen is out there somewhere smiling and congratulated Jakob on a job well done.

Agreed on the 5 k WR being in real danger if he went for it, the real mind blowing thing is that he is missed most of his base phase last autumn due to injury 😱😱

When most WR's are beaten and measured in hundredths of a second, BOOM! 3 seconds. Beast mode.

One of the greatest distance runners in history already. He turns 24 next month.

Ingebrigtsen's resume is stunning. I happen to love runners who ran cross-country more than other runners. It's no surprise that Jakob was a X-C champion as well as a track star.

This guy’s talent is unreal.

He is in the rarified air with Guerrouj as an all-time great for these middle distances…

Other than a few hiccups, Jakob is untouchable.

Jacob is not only an incredible talent, but a competitive spirit that is insane. It is at least 80% heart and a crazy hard ethic be him. Congrats on this and very apparently much more to come!
