Simply difficult to verbalize how incredibly fast that is. 99% of people have mo comprehension how physically and mentally brutal that was!! He finished up looking like he took a stroll in the park!!

He made that last lap look like he hadn't just ran 1.75 miles already... Simply incredible. Hugely under-promoted performance!

Astonishing performance. He ran the "last" 3000 meters" in 7'22, which is extremely close to Komen's WR for 3k. That record is going to be broken quite soon I think :)

I cannot believe how this race wasn't promoted more...or at all. Surely, the fact that some chap was trying to run two consecutive sub-4 minute miles and break a 20 odd year old record is worth a bit of media coverage in the build up to the attempt. The BBC coverage was dreadful. It should have been the highlight of the meet but the BBC only showed a brief "highlights of the race" clip. Ridiculous!

He was at 4 flat until 800 left and then went 58, 56 last two laps. Incredible.

That was absolutely incredible. He made a sub-8 for 2 miles look SO smooth.

I will admit that he's a faster runner than I am

He came across 1st mile in 4:01. 3:53 second mile. Damn. Ridiculously amazing time.

I've heard people say numerous times that Komen's 7:58.61 was a "soft" record. Really? No one (many great runners including Geb) ever came close to it, or really to 8 minutes (Geb closest at 8:01, also more than 20 years ago). But what makes this record so astonishing is how far ahead of all the other world class runners Jakob was. What that says to me is that he is in a class alone.

Wow...that was one of the most impressive T&F performances ever. Seriously.

think about it this way.
there are people that can do a sub 4-minute mile, which is already INCREDIBLE.
he just did it twice... consecutively, without rest.

Jordan dominating basketball, Tyson hitting the heavy bag, Ingebrigtsen demolishing records on the track. There's something satisfying about seeing someone doing something they are just the best at.

I ran against a guy in high school who, in a postal meet, ran a 4:02 mile and an 8:53 two mile. His name was Rich Kimball. At the time, he was one of the fastest runners in California. To think this guy did two miles in 7:54 is mind boggling. Bravo.

Winning by over 100 metres in a Diamond League meet is insane. Along with everything else he does

Second man under the eight-minute barrier. Hats off to Daniel Komen of Kenya. Hats off to Jacob Ingabritsen

Hope to see much more of Jakob Ingebrigtsen, what an absolute phenomenon. Daniel Komen ran his WR at 3000m at the age of 19, Jakob is now 22. Seeing this performance it’s only a matter of time before he beats the 3000m WR

Unreal. Didn’t think Komen’s WR would go especially by 4 secs. Amazing.

My gosh! 4 seconds faster. That was unbelievable.
